About the Role


As a Senior Lead in the Business & Private Bank Strategy team, you will help shape the division's future direction and support key business decisions. You will work across a wide range of priorities, bringing together customer, market and business insights to identify opportunities and provide perspective on the factors influencing the division. Partnering with senior leaders, you will help translate these insights into clear recommendations and actions that guide where the business focuses its time, effort and investment to support Business & Private Bank's long-term success.

 

Work Type- Permanent

Location- Melbourne/Sydney

Full time- 40 Hours!

What will your day look like?

 

As a Senior Lead, Strategy, you are accountable for:

 

  • Lead strategic analysis, planning and advisory work across Business & Private Bank. 
  • Bring together insights from across the business to develop clear, evidence-based recommendations and materials for executive and Board audiences.
  • Translate strategic priorities into clear choices, investment considerations and recommendations.
  • Support divisional and enterprise strategic planning cycles, ensuring alignment with broader ANZ objectives. 
  • Assess market trends, competitive dynamics, customer needs, business performance and strategic opportunities. 
  • Build or interrogate commercial analysis, financial models and scenarios to test options, trade-offs and expected outcomes. 
  • Partner with senior stakeholders across Strategy, Product, Distribution, Finance, Risk and Delivery to build alignment and influence decisions. 
  • Apply independent judgement and provide constructive perspectives to strengthen recommendations and decision-making

 

What will you bring?


To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

Must have’ knowledge, skills and experiences

  • Experience in strategy, management consulting, strategic planning or a related advisory role.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to develop concise materials for executive and Board audiences
  • Strong strategic problem-solving and analytical capability, with the ability to develop clear, evidence-based recommendations. 
  • Ability to independently navigate ambiguity, define problems, prioritise work and lead strategy projects from initial framing through to recommendation. 
  • Experience influencing senior stakeholders and building alignment across business units and divisions. 
  • Strong commercial acumen, including an understanding of customer strategy, investment trade-offs and competitive dynamics. 

Good to have’ knowledge, skills and experiences

  • Experience in banking or financial services, particularly business or commercial banking.
  • Experience supporting enterprise or divisional strategic planning.
  • Experience coaching or developing strategy professionals.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Undergraduate degree in business, finance, economics, commerce or a relevant related discipline
