Internal Audit is seeking to expand its data, analytics and AI capability to enhance risk insight and assurance coverage. This role provides thought leadership and leads the execution of Internal Audit’s strategy to become the leading audit function in the use of data, analytics and AI for assurance.  

The role is accountable for partnering with audit teams to design and implement scalable analytics and AI solutions for the purposes of providing assurance over key risks and controls.  

As a leader within the function, you will also be responsible for driving a high-performing data-led culture by promoting innovation, augmenting data, analytics and AI capability and implementing best-practice governance and standards. 

In this role you will:

• Lead and develop a team of data analysts to deliver high-quality analytics that enhance visibility of ANZ’s risk and control environment and strengthen assurance outcomes.
• Define and execute Internal Audit’s data, analytics and AI strategy, including prioritising use cases, establishing roadmaps and delivering scalable solutions.
• Partner with audit teams to embed data and AI into audit delivery, providing subject matter expertise to enhance risk insights and assurance quality.
• Drive the adoption of AI and advanced analytics across Internal Audit.
• Own and manage management reporting and dashboards to track operational metrics and support executive decision-making.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across business, risk, and technology to identify and deliver innovative analytics use cases and solutions.

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

• Proven experience leading and developing analytics teams and embedding data-driven insights into audit outcomes.
• Ability to translate Internal Audit strategy into scalable data and analytics solutions, including defining roadmaps and use cases.
• Demonstrated experience driving adoption of AI and advanced analytics, including capability uplift, governance and standards.
• Experience designing and implementing scalable analytics solutions and reusable data assets.
• Experience delivering management reporting frameworks for operational metrics and executive decision support.
• Strong understanding of data governance, controls, and assurance principles.
• Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and communicate complex insights effectively.
• Technical proficiency in Qlik, Python, KNIME and SQL; exposure to cloud/ML ecosystems advantageous.
• Ability to operate in complex, ambiguous environments with strong analytical judgement.
