About the Role
As a Senior Lawyer, Whistleblowing, you will be responsible for providing commercial, practical and strategic front and back end legal advice in relation to the statutory whistleblowing regime. You will develop and maintain strong subject matter expertise, including proactively identifying and responding to relevant legislative and regulatory change. Reporting to the Head of Legal, Whistleblowing, you will engage with a broad range of stakeholders at all levels of seniority and will have the opportunity to demonstrate your strong leadership, presentation and influencing skills.

What will your day look like?
As a Senior Lawyer, you will:
- Provide commercial, practical, strategic and timely legal advice and services to key stakeholders at all levels of seniority, including senior management and executive
- Develop strong subject matter expertise, including maintaining up to date awareness of legal and regulatory developments and sharing that expertise through formal and informal means
- Proactively manage legal and regulatory risk by responding quickly and appropriately to developments in the law
- From time to time in accordance with business need, actively managing commercial or employment litigation within the broader dispute resolution and employment legal team
- Establish and maintain strong and positive relationships with internal stakeholders and external law firms to help stakeholders deliver on key priorities
- You will have the opportunity to demonstrate and develop your strong leadership, presentation and influencing skills
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
- Strong post-qualification experience in commercial law, preferably with a background in commercial litigation or employment law, gained from either a major Australian law firm or comparable in-house legal team.
- Experience advising on the whistleblower legal regime will be highly regarded but is not essential.
- Self-driven and proactive; willingness to develop and maintain strong expertise in a developing area of the law and to share expertise with your team and key stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to provide strategically considered and commercially relevant legal advice.
- Strong project management and interpersonal skills with the confidence to liaise effectively with corporate function stakeholders and individuals at all levels including senior management.
- Understanding of the need for absolute discretion and maintaining confidentiality at all times.
- Team focused with a flexible attitude and the willingness to go the extra mile.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated capacity to work under pressure, excellent time management skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities to meet changing demands.
- Common sense, curiosity and a love of learning.
