About the Role

As a Senior Investment Operations Manager in our team, you’ll play a key role in helping to support the Head of Investments in effectively managing ANZ Staff Superannuation Scheme’s (ANZSS’s) Investment portfolio in accordance with ANZSS’s objectives, Investment Governance Framework, risk appetite, and regulatory requirements in members’ best financial interests. ANZSS is a profit-to-members superannuation fund, designed for current and former ANZ staff and their partners.

Role Type: Permanent
Role Location: 833 Collins Street, Docklands VIC 3008 
Work Hours: Full-time, 40hrs/week

What will your day look like?

This role will be accountable for:

  • Managing all investment implementation activities and investment related projects as directed by Head of Investments.
  • Monitoring and evaluating the performance of ANZSS’s investments.
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and fiduciary responsibilities, maintaining the highest standards of integrity and transparency in all activities.
  • Managing ANZSS’s liquidity requirements and all rebalancing requirements of the Fund.
  • Contributing to managing the relationship with ANZSS’s Custodian and facilitating all day to day investment options requirements with the custodian.
  • Managing all investment operations activities with the Fund’s investment managers.
  • Facilitating operational reviews of key providers like the custodian and investment managers.
  • Presenting to Committees and preparing Committee papers on investment operation related matters.
  • Coordinating the investment operations agenda with key stakeholders like auditors, managers and custodian. 
  • Documenting and reviewing all investment operations policies and procedures.
  • Actively contributing to broader team and fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration and innovation.

What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

  • Extensive experience in investment operational roles, preferably within the Australian superannuation industry.
  • Proven track record in managing an investment operation function.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Sound understanding of financial markets, asset allocation principles, and risk management approach.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and make informed decisions under pressure.
  • A self starter with ability to work independently to deliver outcomes for members.
