About the Role
The Senior Investigator is responsible for managing investigations into insider crime at ANZ, including investigations into fraud, theft and similar serious misconduct, major reputational risk issues and those involving the conduct of executives. Those investigations are timely, fair and high quality and provide learning for ANZ to improve our risk and control environment.

What will your day look like?
This role is accountable for:
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with our key internal stakeholders, being a trusted advisor on internal fraud governance as well as on specific cases in the team or function
- Conducting investigations allocated to them efficiently, effectively and properly, informed by a deep understanding of the procedural fairness requirements of a workplace investigation, and consistent with ANZ ‘s Values
- Ensuring that investigations are appropriately scoped, evidence is properly gathered and objectively considered, and findings are made which are balanced and supported by high quality analysis reflected in a well written report which makes risk and control recommendations where appropriate
- Supporting the team and GI function to deliver high quality investigations which are procedurally and substantively fair
- Producing and engaging with case data with accuracy and sophistication, to deliver significant insight and value to our stakeholders
- Supporting the team to meet emerging fraud and insider crime risk, bringing a broad lens to our ability to leverage our insights for the benefit of the bank.
What will you bring?
To be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
- Sound workplace investigations experience including demonstrated understanding of the baseline legal (procedural and substantive fairness) requirements and sound experience in the conduct of those investigations, preferably with experience investigating workplace fraud, theft and insider crime
- Drafting workplace investigation reports to produce high quality written analysis (applying the rules of evidence) and fact finding
- Forensic analysis, using systems to source data and interrogating data
- Sophisticated verbal and written communication skills
- Planning, prioritisation and delivery
- Relationship management and influencing
- Using data to create meaningful actionable insights
- Critical thinking, problem solving, sound judgement
