About the Role
As Senior Digital Engagement Advisor you manage a geographically dispersed team to oversee ANZ’s intranet, Max, enterprise social channel, Viva Engage, analytics tools and the Communications functions mass email distribution platform, ensuring they effectively support communication, collaboration and engagement across the organisation.
The Senior Digital Engagement Advisor is responsible for content management, governance and employee insights to create a user-centric, accessible and dynamic digital communications environment. This role ensures the internal digital employee communication channels are fit for purpose, with a focus on ensuring ANZ’s global intranet, remains an essential tool for employees by maintaining high-quality content, implementing governance processes and driving initiatives to capture and act on employee feedback.
This role plays an integral role in fostering a connected and informed workforce, enhancing the overall employee experience and organisational culture at ANZ.

What will your day look like?
This role is accountable for:
- Leading and managing a geographically dispersed team of experts who manage and enhance ANZ’s intranet.
- Continuously improving the platform based on evolving business needs (including search functionality).
- Capturing and acting on employee and UX insights. Using insights to continuously improve the platform and enhance its role as a vital resource for ANZ’s employees.
- Collaboration and stakeholder management - working closely with vendors and ANZ’s Technology product owners as well as key stakeholders in Communications and Public Affairs, Technology, Talent and Culture and across the business to align intranet functionalities with the organisation’s strategic priorities and objectives. Ensuring all functions and business units have the tools and resources necessary to contribute to and benefit from the platforms.
- Content strategy and governance - ensuring all information on the intranet is relevant, accessible, and reflective of the company’s values and culture. Establishing and governing processes to maintain the quality and accuracy of content across the enterprise.
- Driving employee engagement - utilising the intranet and Viva Engage as tools to enhance employee communication and engagement. Implement initiatives to foster collaboration, knowledge sharing, and company-wide involvement in intranet and Viva Engage content creation.
- Managing risk and compliance measures – collaborating with technology and risk teams to ensure the intranet complies with all mandatory ANZ policies, processes and standards including data privacy regulations and security protocols. Governing the process for monitoring and addressing potential risks and issues related to Viva Engage user interactions.
- Playing a pivotal role in administering the Communication function mass email distribution platform’s user accounts, managing access rights, onboarding new users and managing the primary relationship with the vendor.
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
- Demonstrated people leader skills and exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to collaborate and influence at all levels of the organisation and manage vendor relationships.
- In-depth understanding of intranet systems (including Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Microsoft Teams), content management systems (CMS), and other digital workplace tools.
- Content management and governance experience - strong knowledge of content creation, publishing workflows, and governance frameworks for maintaining high-quality, consistent, and secure intranet content.
- Employee engagement strategies - knowledge of techniques to foster employee engagement through digital platforms, including communication best practices and collaboration tools.
- User Experience (UX) design principles - an awareness of user experience and interface design concepts to ensure ANZ’s intranet is intuitive and accessible to all employees.
- Risk and compliance - understanding of data privacy laws and security protocols related to managing internal content and employee data.
- Project management - ability to manage employee communication channels roadmaps and related projects, from content updates to platform enhancements, ensuring timely delivery and stakeholder alignment.
- Analytical skills - strong ability to gather and analyse data on employee engagement and platform usage, translating insights into actionable improvements.
- A passion for internal digital communication and channels.
- Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic and evolving context while navigating ambiguity.
- Strong problem-solving skills to address platform challenges, employee feedback and technical issues in a dynamic environment.
- Exercises sound judgement - makes sound and timely decisions in an ambiguous or crisis environments, calm under pressure.
