At ANZ, we're shaping a world where people and communities thrive, driven by a common goal: to improve the financial wellbeing and sustainability of our millions of customers.

Together, you’ll help embed a culture of proactive risk management and enable ANZ to thrive in a world of evolving challenges.

Banking is changing and we’re changing with it, giving our people great opportunities to try new things, learn and grow. Whatever your role at ANZ, you’ll be building your future, while helping to build ours.

Melbourne

Full-Time

What will your day look like?

As a Senior Data Analyst, you will:

  • Shape the Future of Risk Management: Partner with NFR Framework and Governance teams, as well as business stakeholders, to develop our non-financial risk reporting and dashboards using the preferred solutions, Tableau and GCP (RDH). Your adaptability and people skills will help you tailor your approach to every unique challenge and stakeholder.
  • Be a Data Detective: Dive into data, industry research, and feedback—both numbers and stories—to uncover what our business truly needs. Your discoveries will fuel smarter decisions and drive meaningful change.
  • Master Your Craft: Use your expertise to translate business requirements into optimal solution. Spot what’s working, what’s not, and where we can raise the bar—then help standardise and embed improvements across the organization.
  • Design Solutions That Stick: Bring your ideas to life through engaging presentations and prototypes. Collaborate with colleagues to turn business needs into intuitive reporting and dashboards, flexing your style to suit every audience and situation.
  • Focus on What Matters Most: Help plan releases and prioritise the backlog, ensuring our efforts align with strategic goals. Your input will keep delivery plans on track and focused on what delivers the most value.
  • Keep the Release Train Running: Clarify and confirm features and epics, ensuring everyone’s on the same page. Take an active role in stand-ups, showcases, and retrospectives—removing roadblocks and smoothing the path for successful releases.
  • Tell the Story, Drive the Change: Work with Change colleagues to craft compelling narratives and learning resources that make complex concepts simple and help embed NFR reporting across the business.
  • Unite Diverse Voices: Support the rollout of NFR reporting and dashboards\, respond to questions, and foster a collaborative environment where everyone can contribute to great outcomes.
  • Grow Yourself: Invest in your own learning and development, while supporting your colleagues to grow and succeed alongside you.

What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

  • Strong understanding and good working knowledge of data visualisation tools, including Qlik, Tableau and ServiceNow Reporting
  • Strong understanding and good working knowledge of database design (e.g., SQL, SAS) and cloud solution (GCP)
  • Experience in processing, cleansing, and verifying the integrity of data used for analysis
  • Experience in using data and reporting to draw insights to problem solve and/or inform business or customer decisions
  • Strong understanding and good working knowledge of the non-financial risk framework, process, and data
  • Strong stakeholder management skills combined with the ability to build strong relationships internally and externally
  • An ability to think about and solve complex issues in a strategic manner, considering the broader context and implications and using a range of analytical techniques
  • Ability to explore user needs in a data-driven way, develop and implement innovative solutions, test the outcomes, and iterate
  • Strong user experience skills and experience in applying HCD techniques to optimise customer journeys and experiences.
  • An inquisitive mindset with an ability to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and implement solutions that enhance the user experience
  • Resilience and a fast-paced approach with a strong growth mindset
