About the Role
The Senior Business Manager acts as a senior extension of the Chief of Staff and a key force multiplier for the CIO. The role supports the effective leadership of the technology function by ensuring the CIO’s priorities are translated into clear plans, high quality executive materials, and disciplined follow through.
As a Senior Business Manager, you will play a central role in shaping, coordinating and overseeing the work of the CIO’s office, ensuring that technology priorities remain on track, governance processes are effective, and commitments to the CEO, ExCo and Board are met with confidence and consistency.

What will your day look like?
- Acting as a senior extension of the Chief of Staff, supporting prioritisation, judgment calls and day‑to‑day orchestration of the Office of the CIO.
- Overseeing the effective functioning of the CIO’s office, including pre‑briefing processes, executive forum readiness, and the timely completion of papers, actions and commitments.
- Supporting the CIO agenda by ensuring technology priorities, initiatives and dependencies are clearly understood, tracked and progressed.
- Working in close partnership with the Operational Excellence Manager to maintain strong governance, operating rhythms and execution discipline across the CIO portfolio.
- Ensuring alignment between the CIO’s priorities, leadership forums and external commitments, proactively identifying risks, gaps or emerging issues.
- Driving continuous improvement in how the Office of the CIO operates, with a focus on effectiveness, clarity and trust with senior stakeholders.
What will you bring?
- Demonstrated experience operating at a senior level in or alongside executive leadership teams, ideally within a large, complex organisation.
- Strong judgement and the ability to operate as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, including the confidence to challenge and influence where required.
- Proven ability to synthesise complex information and provide clear, executive‑level advice, recommendations and written materials.
- Experience overseeing or coordinating executive forums, senior governance processes and priority portfolios.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across diverse senior leaders and functions.
- Experience within technology, transformation or highly regulated environments (desirable).
- Exposure to enterprise level planning, prioritisation and performance management processes (desirable).
