About the Role

The Buy and Own a Home value stream’s mission is to help people buy a home and own it sooner, through an automated, transparent, digital and human supported experience that gives them a high degree of confidence and clarity.  

The Settlement and Loan Management domains within Buy and Own a Home manages the home loan journey from the time an application is approved through to supporting their time as an ANZ Plus home loan customer.    

 
As a Journey Expert (like a Business Analyst) you will work directly with Product Owners, Customer Experience designers and Engineering teams to discover, define, develop and implement features to deliver an optimised home lending process, removing friction and delivering a best-in-class customer experience.

What will your day look like?

• An opportunity to re design and automate how our customers engage with us during the settlement phase and making it easy for them to manage their home loan once they have an ANZ Plus home.  
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams of engineers, testers, experience designers, delivery leads and product owners, through both regular ceremonies to track progress on delivering features on the backlog as well as through ad-hoc interactions as required to work together to refine designs, requirements and solve problems. 
• Contribute to the discovery process to translate ideas on the roadmap into features that are ready to be built, breaking these down into clear and discrete requirements documented and prioritised in the backlog. 
• Take ownership of features, or key parts of features, on the roadmap being the go-to person for stakeholders to explain and present the detailed requirements for these and demonstrate the rationale for why these are being implemented. 
• Coordinate the feature activation process for new features, working with various partners across the organisation to launch these for our customers. 
• Work with key stakeholders across ANZ to handle internal business and manual processes where required. 

What will you bring?

Journey Experts come from a variety of backgrounds bringing skills such as business analysis, customer experience, process mapping and product development. For this role we’d lean towards someone with a digital business analysis background who understands a modern software engineering culture and knows their way around Home Loans.  
 

Key attributes required for this role:   

• We’re scaling and releasing ANZ Plus features at a rapid pace, so expect change, ambiguity and to be stretched outside your comfort zone.  
• An ability to understand large features in depth and become the expert, able to represent this across a range of different teams. 
• A background in home lending and a familiarity with the process of applying for and originating home loans with an appreciation of the associated regulatory environment. 
• Ability to respectfully challenge the status quo and keep the customer at the centre of our data driven decision making. 
• Problem-solving skills; ability to frame a problem and break it down to component parts. 
• A genuine interest in building great products and able to champion the needs of the customer with attention to the small things that go into creating experiences that they will love.
