The Automatic Exchange of Information (AEOI) Subject Matter Expert (SME) is critical to making this happen and will:
• Guide ANZ’s implementation of effective and compliant solutions for AEOI regimes
• Support the implementation of ANZ’s strategic approach and framework for regulatory compliance.
• Manage complex customer and internal escalations relating to AEOI content
• Manage both internal stakeholders across the ANZ group and external stakeholders including industry peers and regulators
• Encourage and support collaboration, innovation and excellence

What will your day look like
As an Senior Automatic Exchange of Information SME, your role is to:
• Monitor and support interpretation of in scope regulatory content for CTT (primarily related to the Common Reporting Standard (CRS) and the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA)) to:
o clarify ANZ’s key regulatory obligations (both new and amended)
o help key stakeholders work through regulatory change and likely impacts
o guide delivery teams as a subject matter expert in relation to key artefacts / high risk items
o support liaison with legal, tax and compliance functions
• Support the implementation and continuous improvement of ANZ’s long term strategic framework for compliance:
o development of global minimum standards and obligations;
o business operating models and architecture
o tracking regulatory change and key interpretative positions
o stakeholder education in relation to regulatory compliance
• Manage complex/technical issues and escalations across the program and business:
o support formal compliance/certification activities
o respond to both internal (eg business unit, legal, compliance) and external (eg regulator and customer) enquiries
• Manage engagement with industry to identify and manage key implementation challenges:
o maintain working relationship with industry groups
o discuss positions where obligations are unclear
o discuss and garner support for consultation/key issues being raised with regulators, both locally and at a global/industry level
• Support formal and informal engagement with regulators
o Align proposed ANZ position across internal stakeholders (eg tax and legal)
o Develop and present content to regulators for consultation/lobbying on key issues
What will you bring?
To be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following -
• A strong work ethic with a focus on excellence at speed, in the face of competing priorities
• Proven experience as a Business Analyst with either a compliance/legal background and/or formal BA certification highly regarded
• Proficiency in managing and influencing both internal and external stakeholders
• Proven ability to lead by example in a complex and fast paced environment
• Proficiency in information based and balanced decision making cognisant of underlying risk
• Proficiency in communicating effectively by tailoring the message to the audience
• Extensive FATCA and CRS knowledge and relevant regulatory drivers (familiarity with legal analysis and concepts of law an advantage)
• Aptitude for consuming large amounts of content and gleaning relevant facts
• Robust organisational knowledge of ANZ products, processes and systems
• Desire and ability to learn, and to also help people around you develop and grow
• Formal people leadership, including guiding and motivating a small professional team to achieve required outcomes
