Internal Audit (IA) forms the independent third line function of ANZ’s three lines of defence (3LOD) governance operating model. IA comprises multiple teams that collectively support the bank to move at pace safely through our enterprise-wide lens and independence.  The use of technology, data and automation are critical in driving innovation and supporting the functions of the bank. 


IA’s Technology and Data & Automation (TDA) team is responsible for assessing how risks in relation to these key areas are managed. You will report to the Audit Director, Internal Audit, who reports to the General Manager Audit, Technology and Data & Automation.

 

Role Location: 833 Collins Street, Docklands VIC 3008 (preferred) / 242 Pitt Street, Sydney NSW 2000
Role Type: Permanent, Full-time

What will your day look like

This role is accountable for:

  • Contribute to the development of the annual Audit Plan and the allocation of resources based on risk profile of business areas.
  • Planning, leading, and executing audit engagements in line with the annual Audit Plan and audit methodology.
  • Reviewing specific business areas with a focus on technology, data, and automation related processes.
  • Assessing the adequacy and appropriateness of controls in place to manage and mitigate risk. 
  • Deliver appropriate assurance through quality audit reports supported by appropriate audit evidence. 
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills and experience including Technology senior management. 
  • Working with management to develop sustainable solutions that enhance the control environment, better manage risk exposures, support the Bank’s strategic objectives, and ensure customer and stakeholder interests are being safeguarded.

 

You will be required to work closely with colleagues across the global team, drawing on your excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills. You will also have an important role in building capability across the Internal Audit function.

What will you bring?

To be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following: 

  • Extensive experience in and understanding of key risk management frameworks and principles, including operational risk and compliance and delivery risk.
  • Experience in leading concurrent Technology large sized audit engagements / risk teams working on medium to high complexity and profile reviews.
  • Substantial experience auditing across complex Technology environments.
  • Technology risk management experience coupled with significant banking & finance industry knowledge.
  • Experience including risk and control analysis of complex business areas and processes, using this to design and deliver effective assurance including the use of data to support audit assessment.
  • Strong negotiation, influencing and conflict management skills.

 

The ‘good to have’ knowledge, skill, and experience (KSE) the role requires are: 

  • Experience in a large financial institution or a large organisation with complex IT Infrastructure.
  • Experience in auditing cloud-based environments and CI/CD pipelines is highly desirable; and
  • Experience to auditing agile organisations and/or conduct agile audits.
  • Developing people in a project team context and setting clear performance expectations with clear feedback against these. 
  • Experience in supporting change and overcoming resistance to change.

 

Qualifications are:

  • Tertiary qualified, ideally with Professional (e.g. CISA, CISSP, CISM, ITIL, CPA/CA); and
  • Post-graduate qualifications with technically relevant skills (i.e. accounting, audit, credit risk, technology, digital)
