About the Role

 

The Senior Audit Lead – Change Execution roles support delivery of specialist independent third-line assurance over the effectiveness of governance, change execution risk management practices and controls supporting major transformation initiatives across the Group. 

 

Reporting to the Audit Director – Change Execution, these roles lead audit engagements of varying complexity delivered through the Change Execution Centre of Audit model, focusing on enterprise-wide and strategically significant change initiatives. The roles contribute evidence-based assessments of change governance, delivery discipline and execution risk management. 

 

The roles work closely with audit teams and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality audit outcomes in accordance with Internal Audit methodology and Global Internal Audit Standards, while contributing specialist Change Execution risk insight and supporting a strong speak-up culture

What will your day look like?

 

As a Senior Audit Lead – Change Execution, core accountabilities include:  

 

Audit Delivery & Assurance

 

Lead Change Execution audits or contribute to complex engagements, delivering assurance aligned to the Internal Audit plan. Apply strong risk judgement in scoping, testing, and conclusions to support credible, evidence-based assessments of change execution risk and control effectiveness.

 

Planning & Execution

 

Contribute to audit planning by identifying emerging execution risks, delivery issues, and thematic insights across the change portfolio. Manage audit delivery within timelines and budgets, ensuring disciplined execution, timely escalation of risks, and effective issue follow-up.

 

Risk & Methodology

 

Apply Internal Audit methodology, Global Internal Audit Standards, and Change Execution risk frameworks to strengthen audit quality, risk analysis, and conclusions.

 

Data & Collaboration

 

Adopt a data-enabled audit approach using delivery metrics and insights to enhance outcomes. Collaborate with audit teams and Centres of Audit to provide specialist change execution insights.

 

Stakeholder & Leadership

 

Engage stakeholders effectively, ensure findings are clear and value-driven, and aligned to the ANZ Delivery Framework. Lead and develop team members while fostering a strong speak-up culture and role modelling integrity and sound judgement.

 

What will you bring?

 

To grow and be successful in this role, you’ll ideally bring the following:  

 

  • Applied strong internal audit expertise across high-risk environments, covering execution, evidence validation, reporting, and issue management.
  • Assessed change execution risks across governance, delivery discipline, risk/issue management, and dependencies in large-scale transformation programs.
  • Delivered assurance on complex change initiatives, challenging governance effectiveness, oversight, and execution quality.
  • Aligned audit scope, testing, and outcomes with the ANZ Delivery Framework (ADF) and enterprise risk standards.
  • Leveraged data analytics to enhance audit scoping, testing approaches, and insight-driven conclusions.
  • Engaged and influenced senior stakeholders, clearly communicating complex audit findings and managing constructive challenge.
  • Supported team capability development while fostering a strong speak-up culture, demonstrating integrity and professional judgement.
  • Gained exposure to Agile, hybrid, and waterfall delivery models, collaborating with delivery and transformation stakeholders.
  • Held relevant qualifications in audit, risk, or business disciplines, with certifications such as CIA, CA, CPA, PRINCE2, PMP, or Agile methodologies.
