About the Role

 

 

As a Senior Associate / Associate in the Institutional Property Group (IPG) Research & Analysis (R&A) team, you will build collaborative relationships with Relationship Managers, Credit Executives, Product Partners, and Client Services. Through building these relationships, you will help our customers’ needs by providing inspired solutions, as well as supporting the needs of the business.

What will your day look like?

 

 

The purpose of the Senior Associate role is to assist the Research & Analysis team within the IPG to complete the broader credit assessment function and ensure an optimal ‘well managed’ portfolio. The role will provide direct exposure to a portfolio of IPG clients across the property industry; including the Office, Industrial, Retail, Hotel, and/or Residential sectors. The role offers exposure to both investment loan and development loan structures. This environment provides an ideal situation for a banker to build and develop their credit assessment skillset.

 

 

The primary activities of the role include:

 


•    Identifying and managing risks inherent in the client’s capital and management structure, as well as financial results
•    Client, asset, or project performance & risk evaluation & mitigation strategies
•    Prepare quality credit submissions
•    Conduct financial analysis and industry research
•    Risk grade event management
•    Liaise with clients and Credit on risk and financial performance related matters, including covenant compliance and risk grade review events
•    Liaise with credit executives on an on-going basis
•    Deal documentation
•    Well Managed portfolio controls
•    Direct contact and communication with clients

What will you bring?

 

 

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

 


•    Demonstrated experience in Banking or Finance.
•    Tertiary qualifications, preferably in Commerce, Business, Accounting or Economics.
•    Experience in customer Management and broad knowledge of processes and procedures.
•    Ability to identify key business drivers and mitigate key risks and make recommendations where appropriate.
•    Demonstrated financial analysis skills going beyond traditional accounting based analysis.
•    Sound credit skills with the ability to present a well-motivated risk assessment and business proposition.
•    Sound communication skills and strong understanding of Microsoft Office products.
