About the Role

 

This is an important role within the Non-Financial Risk (NFR) Framework governance team. The role has a focus on ensuring the NFR framework is being applied consistently and as intended across the organisation and that the desired risk management outcomes are achieved. The role supports the communication of clear expectations for desired framework outcomes, NFR maturity and provides oversight of framework implementation. 

 

As a Senior Associate, you will monitor effectiveness through insights and metrics, and drive continuous improvement to strengthen risk and control practices. Acting as a trusted partner to Line 1 and Line 2 stakeholders, you will promote high-quality decision making through clear guidance and escalation where gaps or outliers in Non-Financial risk management or effectiveness are identified, including across value chains.

What will your day look like?

 

  • Partner with business teams to design, uplift and embed sustainable NFR framework practices aligned to enterprise frameworks and regulatory expectations. 
  • Integrate risk requirements into business processes in a practical, efficient manner that supports customer outcomes and business process re‑engineering. 
  • Influence, translate data insights and frameworks into business language, support the business to implement frameworks and provide feedback to GGM Operational Risk on what is working well and what could be improved. 
  • Identifying and measuring in line with Group standards, the data risk and the quality of data that is used for business decisions (including issues with accuracy, completeness or timeliness which impact data quality, inappropriate data use or lineage gaps). 
  • Interact with data teams in the division to triage and NFR issues. 
  • Influence and monitor the effectiveness of the NFR Framework with upstream and downstream Risk / Control owners and alignment to governance frameworks.  
  • Advise and influence the business to improve overall NFR Framework adherence and build understanding of capture controls, risk, issues and events. 
  • Cascade and support monitoring of RAS and Indicator metrics to support overall meaningful risk and control effectiveness monitoring. 
  • Prepare risk analysis, insights and materials to manage governance forums, support assurance activities and influence management decision‑making. 
  • Managing remediation planning and delivery by working with business teams to address identified risk and control issues. 
  • Leverage analytics and automation to identify risk indicators, emerging trends, and root causes as well as enable predictive risk management. 
  • Support consolidation of risk insights, themes and emerging issues across the ANZ Enterprise. 

What will you bring?

 

  • Strong knowledge of ANZ’s NFR Framework and the desired outcomes being sought 
  • Understanding of enterprise risk governance, escalation and reporting arrangements. 
  • Strong ability to apply Non-Financial risk expertise pragmatically within business contexts (including value chains). 
  • Strong analytical skills to assess risks, evaluate controls and identify risk themes and insights. 
  • Ability to interpret and translate regulatory and risk requirements into practical business outcomes. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including preparation of materials for governance and management decision‑making. 
  • Sound judgement and a risk‑based mindset, balancing customer, business and regulatory outcomes. 
  • Strong knowledge of data governance and data quality measurement. 
  • Ability to map and understand data lineage. 
  • Skilled overseeing the capture of risks and controls.
