About the Role

 

Supporting the Group Company Secretary and Deputy Group Company Secretary, the successful candidate will play a key role in leading a small team in providing best practice Board governance and corporate reporting services in respect of ANZ’s listed parent company and ADI, as well as dealing with associated regulatory matters.  This is a new role that will require a strategically minded and experienced governance professional focused on change and improvement.

What could your day look like?

 

  • Reviewing board and board committee papers and discussing improvements with senior presenters
  • Discussing and closing out issues raised by Directors with senior executives
  • Attending Board Committee meetings and preparing minutes
  • Reviewing/recommending recommendations for governance improvements in the team’s processes and policies, including managing benchmarking reviews
  • Reviewing the Corporate Governance team’s input into ANZ’s reporting suite and managing the delivery of the Corporate Governance Statement and AGM documentation
  • Responding to governance questions from across the ANZ Group
  • Managing corporate governance projects at the direction of the Group Company Secretary or Deputy Company Secretary.

What will you bring?

 

  • Legal Practitioner / Governance Institute of Australia qualified preferred
  • Demonstrated breadth of governance experience in ASX listed companies, ideally financial services (APRA regulated)
  • Excellent attention to detail and communication skills
  • Proven track record in leading process and policy improvement/simplification
  • Strategic approach to governance and mindset promoting growth and change.
