About Us

At ANZ, we're shaping a world where people and communities thrive, driven by a common goal: to improve the financial wellbeing and sustainability of our millions of customers.

About the Role

The Senior Advisor – Planning & Operations (T&C) is the connective tissue between HR strategy and execution. You will operate the day-to-day portfolio engine—maintaining the integrated roadmap, coordinating interdependencies, running planning and prioritisation forums, supporting OKR/KPI management, and ensuring disciplined, low-risk change releases across HR platforms and processes. You’ll also support financial stewardship (budgeting, forecasting, benefits tracking) and produce clear, executive-ready reporting that enables confident decisions.

This role partners across HR COEs, HR Operations, HRIS/Tech, Finance, Risk/Compliance, Procurement, and vendor partners to keep work flowing predictably and transparently.

Role Type: Permanent
Role Location: Melbourne
Work Hours: Full-Time

What will your day look like?

  • Support the translation of HR strategy into Objectives & Key Results (OKRs)/KPIs and keep the strategy → outcomes → initiatives mapping current.
  • Coordinate quarterly reviews: collect updates, test data quality, highlight risks, and propose course corrections.
  • Run the cadence for annual planning, quarterly re-planning, and rolling 6–12-month views; prepare agendas, packs, and decision logs.
  • Operate the prioritisation model (value, risk, cost, capacity, regulatory timing) and consolidate inputs from product teams.
  • Keep the integrated HR roadmap accurate and accessible; ensure alignment with Tech/Platform plans and business calendars (e.g., Reward/Payroll cycles).
  • Maintain a portfolio-level interdependency map across people, policy, process, data, and technology. Facilitate dependency clinics to anticipate collisions and agree mitigations; maintain RAID artefacts and escalate early with evidence.
  • Support business cases, quarterly budget/forecast cycles, run vs. change views, and variance commentary.
  • Track portfolio / BAU spend vs. plan
  • Coordinate the HR change release calendar (major, minor, emergency) across T&C platforms (e.g., HCM, payroll, ATS, LMS, service management).
  • Ensure impact-based communication plans (employees, managers, TCBPs, T&C Service Delivery) and business readiness activities are complete.
  • Produce executive-ready portfolio packs: “what changed, impacts, options, decisions required,” with a concise narrative and clear visuals. Keep artefacts current and auditable: roadmaps, RAID, capacity plans, release calendar, financial dashboards, benefits register, decision logs.
  • Contribute to standards and playbooks (prioritisation, change control, benefits tracking, vendor governance, internal controls).

What will you bring?

  • 4–7 years in portfolio operations/PMO, planning/prioritisation, business management, or strategy execution—ideally within HR or enterprise support functions.
  • Hands-on experience operating planning cadences, dependency management, and release coordination in complex environments.
  • Strong analytical and financial skills (budget/forecast support, variance analysis, benefits tracking).
  • Excellent communication and facilitation—able to turn complexity into clear options and secure decisions.
  • Proficiency with tooling: JIRA/Advanced Roadmaps or ADO, Smartsheet/MS Project/Planner, Confluence, Power BI/Tableau, and Excel (intermediate modelling).
  • Working knowledge of HR tech ecosystems (Workday/SAP SuccessFactors, payroll, ServiceNow, ATS/LMS).
