About the Role

As a Senior Advisor Governance & Reporting in our Technology NFR division, you’ll play a key role in bringing your prior risk management experience to support the Group Technology Risk Governance and Reporting squad to ensure that risks associated with day-to-day operations are managed, governed and reported on appropriately to protect shareholders, customers and bankers.  

 Under the direction of the Governance & Reporting Manager, support the management of the squad’s services and prioritising delivery as appropriate.

What will your day look like?

You will be accountable for:

Risk Reporting:

  • Preparation of exemplary reporting for committees and forums, including Board Risk and Audit Committees, DBTC, OREC, TRMC and various Risk Management Forums while ensuring compliance with internal reporting requirements. 


Risk Assessment & Risk Appetite::

  • Gathering and interpreting risk data including controls, assessment results, metrics and risks to develop data-driven key messages and insights to facilitate actions and decision across Group Technology.
  • Providing advice on risk, compliance, governance, controls and related information.
  • Providing secretariat support to Group Technology’s Executive Management for interactions with relevant risk committees, Boards and sub-committees including monitoring actions assigned to Group Technology 


Stakeholder Relationship Management & Coordination
 

  • Building strong relationships with key internal stakeholders for input and communications.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of risk culture and awareness within Group Technology. 

What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

  • Strong understanding of nonfinancial risk management frameworks, including risk assessment, control environments, and assurance concepts
  • Ability to synthesise and analyse risk and control information into clear, structured insights
  • Capability to coordinate inputs and activities across multiple teams (e.g. COEs, Controls Testing)
  • Sound risk judgement to identify themes, emerging risks, and matters requiring escalation
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, including preparation of governance and reporting materials
  • Experience in risk, governance, controls, audit, or assurance roles within a complex organisation
  • Experience working with COEs, Controls Testing, or assurance functions to gather and challenge inputs
  • Experience operating in matrixed or crossfunctional environments without direct people management accountability
  • Working knowledge of divisional risk appetite and how it is applied and monitored in practice
  • Knowledge of risk aggregation and reporting practices, including consolidation across BUs, COEs, and Controls Testing
  • Understanding of event and issue management lifecycles, including root cause analysis and lessons learned
  • Awareness of regulatory change and impact management principles and delivery tracking
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationshipbuilding skills with business and risk partners
  • Organisational skills to manage multiple delivery activities concurrently under direction
  • Ability to provide informal guidance, review, and quality support to less experienced team me
  • Familiarity with enterprise risk standards, governance requirements, and policies
