About the Role
Under the ASIC Matters arrangements, ANZ is committed to ensuring that the planned commitments are designed effectively and are sustainably embedded to ensure the Matters giving rise to the need for the commitments are addressed. The Closure Point Process is designed to achieve this objective. The scope of the dedicated Closure Process Team’s work is defined in the Closure Process Playbook and includes executing reviews to assess the design, sustainability and operating effectiveness of remediation planned and delivered.
The role of the Risk and Assurance Lead is to lead a team in the provision of reviews to support the Australia Retail and Commercial business in delivering the ASIC Matters Program. This includes the concept of Sustainable Outcomes by Design to ensure that matters to be delivered uplift our processes and Non-Financial Risk environment.

What will your day look like?
This role is accountable for:
• Scope, execution, and communicating effectiveness assessments in line with the Closure Point Playbook, SBD emerging practices and team objectives.
• Providing day to day leadership, coaching, development, and oversight to at least 1 direct report.
• Liaising efficiently and on a timely basis with senior stakeholders to execute/review testing procedures, communicate outcomes to key stakeholders (verbally and written).
• Collaborating with broader team members, as required, to share learnings and expertise.
• Providing pragmatic and commercial risk management perspectives and recommendations to internal stakeholders.
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
• Ability to understand end to end processes and identify risks, risk causes and optimal controls.
• Technology Assurance and or testing skills (for 1 available role)
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to influence & negotiate change
• Able to manage people, work priorities and conflicting issues in a professional & risk based manner
• Problem solving and critical thinking skills for ensuring problems, root causes leading to actions are understood, including the ability to efficiently synthesize information to determine relevance.
• Collaborating and influencing business teams to achieve optimal business and customer outcomes.
• Strong written and verbal presentation skills for addressing senior level, internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong, clear documentation skills and business report writing to ensure adherence to the Methodology.
• Ability to manage multiple Commitments/Matters efficiently and within expected timelines.
• Excellent communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs
• Demonstrated Experience in Risk Management
• Knowledge of banking instruments, products, and processes
