About the Role

 

As a Risk Culture and Capability Specialist, you will support the development, implementation, management and tracking of the Risk Culture framework and plan. You will require a strong understanding of the business and the drivers behind the current NFR and Risk Culture uplift. The role will have a focus on opportunities to engage and inspire stakeholders from across the division to support collective NFR understanding and initiatives, training and communications to uplift risk culture.

Role Location: Sydney or Melbourne

Role Schedule: Full Time (40 hrs/week)

 

What will your day look like?

As a Risk Culture and Capability Specialist, you are accountable for: 

 

  • Assessment of overall risk culture maturity by: 
    • Analysing Risk Culture Survey outcomes;
    • Reviewing and challenging Divisional / Portfolio risk management metrics, commentary and activities; and
    • Seeking qualitative internal and external data to ensure that a meaningful assessment is made, considering the regulatory environment, industry best practice and changing customer expectations. 
  • Production of reports and regular Risk Culture updates on behalf of Australia Retail after consultation with key stakeholders across the Division
  • Facilitation of Risk Culture Working Group and strengthening of risk culture community of practice for Australia Retail
  • Raising awareness and understanding of risk culture through clear and compelling communication including story-telling and case studies linking target behaviours with better NFR management and stronger customer outcomes.
  • In collaboration with the Portfolios, identifying opportunities and leading initiatives to elevate risk culture understanding, behaviours and maturity. 
  • Identifying opportunities to uplift risk culture capability and designing training, tools and resources in response
  • Continuously engaging in conversations across the bank, and seeking external views, to understand and influence risk culture uplift.

What will you bring?

 

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

  • A strong understanding of risk management practices, frameworks and behaviours 
  • Risk Culture experience or understanding
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to use data to produce reports, form insights and support decision-making
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders 
  • Proven experience in designing, delivering and embedding initiatives
  • Excellent communication skills – writing, presentations
  • Ability to develop training and communications to influence and motivate individuals at all levels of the organisation 
  • Ability to manage priorities and conflicting issues
  • Ability to see the big picture and use it to help navigate and prioritise the day to day
  • Curiosity to challenge status quo thinking and understand root cause in order to determine the best way forward
