About Us

At ANZ, we're shaping a world where people and communities thrive, driven by a common goal: to improve the financial wellbeing and sustainability of our customers. Our Institutional bank helps our largest customers move trade and capital around the region, providing our people with great opportunities to build their technical expertise and their careers.

About the Role

As a Relationship Manager within the Growth Portfolio, you will manage a portfolio of Institutional Banking clients, providing end-to-end support across their banking requirements. This hybrid role encompasses client coverage, R&A activities and PCM Account Manager support.

The Relationship Manager is responsible for deepening ANZ’s relevance with customers and the industries in which they operate by strengthening strategic dialogue, delivering a seamless client experience, streamlining internal processes and identifying opportunities to deepen relationships and drive growth.

Role Location:  833 Collins Street, Docklands VIC 3008
Role Type:  Permanent, Full-time

What will your day look like?

As a Relationship Manager, your key accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage and deepen strong client relationships, delivering effective client coverage while ensuring compliance with internal policies and non-financial risk requirements.
  • Manage R&A activities and maintain a well-managed portfolio, ensuring customer and portfolio requirements are addressed in a timely and effective manner.
  • Manage and grow the PCM requirements of your portfolio, identifying opportunities to deepen client relationships and support broader business growth.
  • Consistently demonstrate ANZ’s core values in all interactions with customers, colleagues and internal stakeholders.

What will you bring?

We know that no one candidate will bring every skill or experience listed below. At ANZ, we value people who bring a growth mindset, are curious and are willing to learn. The following capabilities and experience will support success in the role, but you do not need to have them all from day one.

Key skills and experience include:

  • Tertiary qualifications, preferably in Commerce, Business, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in customer and relationship management, with a sound understanding of relevant banking processes, policies and procedures.
  • Strong communication, relationship management and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively navigate the ANZ network and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver outcomes for customers.
  • Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to identify key business drivers, assess and mitigate risks, and make sound recommendations where appropriate.
  • Good working knowledge of a broad range of banking products and services, with the ability to identify solutions that meet customer needs.
  • Ability to undertake financial analysis and credit assessment, applying sound judgement to support customer and portfolio management decisions.
  • A proactive and collaborative approach, with the ability to manage competing priorities and take ownership of customer outcomes.

You’re not expected to have 100% of these skills. At ANZ a growth mindset is at the heart of our culture, so if you have most of these things in your toolbox, we’d love to hear from you.

So why join us?

From the moment you join ANZ, you'll be doing meaningful work that will shape a world where people and communities thrive.
