The Lending Area Manager is responsible for leading a team of specialist lenders. This role involves recruitment, onboarding, capability building, and leading the sales and performance of a successful specialist lending team. Key responsibilities also include managing customer experience, risk, and governance of the lending team.
What will your day look like?
The Proprietary Lending division aims to help customers by offering lending solutions that are tailored to their needs, with simple processes and a strong focus on service across all direct channels whether in person or online.
As an ANZ Lending Area Manager, you will be responsible for shaping the direction and growth of the lending business, including attracting and keeping great people on the team as well as making sure lending services run smoothly, whether they’re delivered in branches or remotely. You will also manage risks and keep operations safe and secure.
Key responsibilities include:
- Recruiting and onboarding new home lenders.
- Leading a consistent approach to sales leadership of a specialised lending team.
- Supporting skill development to cultivate high-performing lenders.
- Managing the performance, customer experience, and governance of the lending team.
- Building succession planning and career prospects for new lenders to support team growth.
- Ensuring compliance with ANZ policies and regulatory requirements.

To be successful in this role, you should bring in the following:
- Strong networking and relationship building skills, demonstrable influencing abilities
- Proven home lending sales track record and ability to grow and scale home lending business, together with whole of customer relationship and banking needs
- Strong understanding of both the end to end home loan business including systems/process/Policies and Procedures
- Proven coaching skillset
- Product and credit skills and knowledge
- Growth mindset and ability to do things differently to achieve incremental results
