Product Performance Manager
About Us
Now is a great time to be part of ANZ’s Commercial Division. With a new strategy and energised, collaborative team, we’re working together to help Australian businesses start, run and grow. Our Transact & Save portfolio is critical to the Commercial division’s strategy, delivering easy to use, exceptional experiences to help our commercial customers save, make payments and get paid.
About the Role
Reporting to the Product Performance Lead within the broader Commercial Products team, you will join a small but growing, high-impact team focused on driving performance across the Transact & Save portfolio. In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with a wide range of stakeholders including Product Management, Frontline, Finance, Business Performance, Data & Analytics and Innovation & Transformation. Your work will be instrumental in uncovering insights, identifying opportunities, and influencing strategic decisions that shape the future of our commercial banking products.
You will also play a key role in implementing product pricing and other initiatives, along with monitoring and reporting on the value and success of initiatives.
This role can lead to many career pathways within commercial banking and across the rest of ANZ. Whichever pathway is right for you, there are inspiring leaders and tailored learning opportunities to give you the skills and advice you need to go after it.
Banking is changing and we’re changing with it, giving our people great opportunities to try new things, learn and grow. Whatever your role at ANZ, you’ll be building your future, while helping to build ours.
Role Type: Permanent.
Role Location: Flexible within Melbourne, Sydney and Queensland
Work Hours: Full-time, 40hrs/week
Please include a cover letter with your application.
What will your day look like?
As a Product Performance Manager, your day-to-day work will vary, but here’s what you might expect:
• Synthesise and analyse product performance data and trends to uncover insights and opportunities
• Build and maintain Excel models to track key metrics
• Develop and deliver clear, compelling PowerPoint packs to communicate findings and recommendations
• Collaborate with frontline teams to understand customer behaviour
• Collaborate across the broader Commercial Business and build relationships and information networks that support the Product Performance function.
• Identify leverage points across the portfolio to influence outcomes and drive improvements
• Ask the right questions to get to the root cause of performance issues
• Support product optimisation initiatives and strategic planning
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in the role, you will ideally bring the following:
- A sharp analytical mindset with the ability to gather and synthesise data, build financial models, extract insights from complex datasets, and communicate findings through clear data visualisation
- Strong communication skills – you’re succinct, clear, and able to translate data into compelling narratives
- Solid understanding of financial concepts and how they apply to product performance
- Experience in banking, financial services or equivalent environment.
- A strategic thinker who considers constraints, resources, and time when solving problems
- Comfort with ambiguity – if you prefer following a set process, this role may not be for you. You’ll be expected to design the process, not just follow one
- The ability to identify leverage points and influence outcomes through insight and collaboration
- Experience working with Product, Analytics, Pricing, Frontline or Finance teams would be highly regarded
- Experience in project management or initiative delivery, with the ability to coordinate across teams and drive outcomes would also be highly regarded.
You’re not expected to have 100% of these skills. At ANZ a growth mindset is at the heart of our culture, so if you have most of these things in your toolbox, we’d love to hear from you.
