About the Role

The Product Owner, Products is a key role for our area. This role leads a squad working to deliver important outcomes for the bank.  

In many cases, this role will be the main point of coordination for our partner tribes and the ‘face’ for our area.  

The Product Owner shapes the work the squad delivers, helping priortise demand, manages dependencies, creates the roadmap and ensures the squad has the right capacity to deliver on it’s mission.

What will your day look like?

 

  • This role is accountable for keeping their squad delivering against their agreed commitments.  
  • Create the quarterly plans for delivery  
  • Manage dependencies and escalate where appropriate  
  • Ensure the squad maintains momentum against committed timelines and escalates in a timely manner where this is unlikely to happen  
  • Creates and maintains the roadmap for the squad, helping our area, our stakeholders and the bank understand the work the area is completing  
  • Influences with key stakeholders to ensure they are asking for work in a way that helps the squad deliver efficiently and effectively  
  • Ensuring the team keeps the right balance between speed of delivery and risk – ensures we stick to all relevant risk processes and timings while delivering our commitments with care  

 

What will you bring?


To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

 
  • A strongly commercial background, able to clearly articulate how your work impacts outcomes that matter to your area, your stakeholders and the bank as a whole.  
  • A leader who can guide the team through ambiguity, support their efforts to deliver key outcomes and ensure they are recognised across the business for the results they drive.  
  • Someone who can make the right connections across our tribe, linking back the right pieces of our overall programme of work to the outcomes your squad is looking to achieve  
  • You will be a key voice in the development of a how we interact with our customers through digital channels 
  • Demonstrating a systems engineering mindset, you’ll be keenly focused on connecting all of the components to deliver value, and find connections between different programs. You’ll be comfortable working with a range of diverse and demanding stakeholders as well as independently to apply new techniques and technologies to deliver lasting business impact.  
  • Actively connects outside and inside ANZ to leverage latest thinking, providing practical/relevant ideas, improvements and fit-for-purpose solutions  
  • Develop a pragmatic strategy to drive improvement using existing capabilities whilst illustrating roads to a new, best in class, target state 
  • Applies expertise in novel and ambiguous contexts to solve large, adaptive challenges  
  • May contribute to organisational knowledge, resources and tools to enable product build
