About the Role

 

The Product Owner is accountable for maximising value delivered by setting clear direction on what work matters most. They own backlog prioritisation and act as the business authority in delivery, ensuring work is customer led, outcome focused and aligned to value stream strategy. Operating as the single point of accountability between business and delivery, the role manages dependencies across Product Owners, Delivery Leads and Initiative Leads

 

Role Type: Secondment (12 Months)
Role Location: Melbourne or Brisbane 
Work Hours: Full-Time (40 Hours/ Week)

What will your day look like?

 

Value delivery - Accountable for end-to-end delivery of agreed RMB value stream outcomes, translating strategy into sequenced delivery while keeping work aligned to approved scope, priorities and customer value.

Backlog ownership and prioritisation - Own and maintain a prioritised backlog, making day-to-day prioritisation and trade-off decisions through to release.

Business delivery accountability - Act as a conduit between Business, Value Streams and Technology, ensuring alignment and effective escalation across the value stream

Quality and release readiness - Own the definition of done and ensure delivered work is complete, compliant and ready for release, including operational, customer, risk and downstream impacts.

Risk, dependency and decision management - Proactively identify and manage risks, dependencies and decision points, progressing issues through appropriate governance to protect delivery outcomes.

Continuous improvement - Use delivery insights, test and learn and customer feedback to continuously improve outcomes, ways of working and delivery across the value stream.

 

What will you bring?

 

The ‘must have’ knowledge, skill and experience (KSE) the role requires are:

  • Experience building and running consumer-facing digital experiences demonstrated through a commitment to delivering exceptional user experiences. 
  • Successfully shipped features iteratively, at scale, in a complex environment 
  • Ability to galvanise a diverse group of people around a common mission and build a strong team culture
  • Proven analytical skills and evidence based decision making
  • Ability to ask for and give feedback
  • Proven ability to innovate and adapt to latest development in area of expertise
  • Successfully built a network of strong relationships and influencing key stakeholders
  • Experience with Agile ways of working through tools such as Jira, Confluence, Figma and Slack as well as a solid understanding of banking and financial wellbeing highly regarded. 
  • Customer first focus with an understanding of Business Owners
