About the Role
We are seeking two motivated and client-focused Private Bankers to join our Melbourne ANZ Private team as part of our growth strategy. This opportunity sits within ANZ Private Office, a specialised segment focused on some of Australia's most successful family groups, entrepreneurs and sophisticated family office clients.
The Private Bankers will be responsible for managing a portfolio of ultra high net worth families and family office clients, providing a personalised relationship model and delivering holistic solutions across their banking, lending, wealth and cash management needs and working closely with our internal partners to deliver a seamless exceptional client experience.
The successful candidates will be responsible for delivering an exceptional client experience, supporting relationship growth, assisting with complex lending and credit activity, managing risk and compliance obligations, and helping drive new opportunities across banking, lending, deposits and investments.

What will your day look like?
As a Private Banker, your key responsibilities are:
- Client Relationship Management: Build and deepen trusted relationships with high net worth and ultra high net worth clients, their families and advisers. Support portfolio reviews, relationship strategies and proactive engagement to identify opportunities aligned with clients’ wealth objectives
- Lending Growth: Support clients with complex lending needs including family group structures, corporate entities, trusts and investment vehicles. Partner with lending specialists to deliver tailored solutions while maintaining strong credit and policy knowledge
- Deposits and Portfolio Management: Support clients’ banking, cash management and deposit needs, ensuring a high standard of service. Coordinate onboarding, account maintenance and ongoing servicing requirements
- Investment Growth: Work with Investment Advisers and ANZ specialists to identify appropriate wealth management opportunities. Apply investment knowledge to support referrals and client outcomes
- Business Development: Contribute to new client acquisition and portfolio growth initiatives. Build referral networks and participate in client events and business development activities
- Risk, Compliance and Operational Excellence: Maintain strong risk and compliance standards across all client interactions. Support KYC, due diligence and onboarding requirements while safeguarding clients and the bank
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
- Strong client relationship management skills with experience managing a portfolio of clients
- Established banking and lending experience with strong understanding of credit processes, credit policy and credit assessment
- Experience working with complex lending structures
- Transaction banking and cash management capability
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to execute accurately and efficiently
- Results oriented mindset with a demonstrated ability to deliver outcomes
- Strong compliance discipline and high standards of risk management
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and specialist teams
- Experience working with high-net-worth or ultra-high-net-worth clients, family groups or business owners
- Exposure to complex residential, commercial property, investment or bespoke lending transactions
- Knowledge of wealth management, advisory services and the needs of high net worth individuals and family groups
- Business development experience in particular working with accountants, lawyers, financial advisers, corporate advisers or family office networks
- Ability to identify and capture opportunities across lending, deposits, cash management, investments and broader wealth solutions
- Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Commerce, Economics, Business or a related discipline are preferred
- CFA, CFP, CPA, CA or progress towards a relevant professional qualification is viewed favourably
