About the Role
The Privacy Reforms Program is an enterprise-wide three-year program that has been established in response to Privacy risks and regulations continuously evolving. In Australia, the recent reforms passed last year introduced new obligations coupled with heightened penalties. It is pivotal that we remain proactive in our approach to ensure we meet these new obligations and increasing community expectations.
The Privacy Governance Specialist will be a pivotal role in the Privacy Reforms Program, responsible for creating and operationalising the Privacy Governance Framework. You will work as part of a small team to identify where automated decision making (ADM) and supporting divisions to achieve compliance. This role will be responsible for updating both internal and external requirements associated with automated decision making and liaising with data legal to oversee the timeline of Global Data Processing agreement.

What will your day look like?
This role is accountable for:
• Assisting in the development and implementation of the Privacy Governance Framework, ensuring it aligns with best practices and existing bank frameworks.
• Developing and implementing delivery approach of discovery of automated decision-making processes, ensuring transparency and accountability.
• Supporting risk assessments of identified ADM processes
• Updating internal and external artefacts the provide the necessary disclosure of ADM processes
• Overseeing the development and implementation of templates and playbooks for Global Data Processing Agreement.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate privacy governance improvements across the organization.
• Preparing reporting for senior management on privacy governance initiatives and progress.
• To comply with future privacy reforms as they become available.
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
• Demonstratable experience in privacy governance or a related field.
• Excellent understanding of data protection/privacy regulations.
• Proven ability to work as part of delivery projects and drive organisational change.
• Experience in project delivery, governance and leading complex delivery models with strong partner delivery capability.
• Excellent communication and senior stakeholder management abilities.
• Ability to develop clear and comprehensive documentation and training materials.
• Proactive and strategic mindset, with the ability to anticipate and address privacy governance challenges.
• Problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Ready to dive in and work hands-on with enthusiasm and energy as a vital member of a dynamic, fast-paced team.
• Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
• Experience working in an agile environment.
• Relevant tertiary qualification desirable
