We currently have a 12 month fixed term opportunity to join a close knit team as a Print Engineer. You will work in a team with support and lots to learn and experience. 
 

What will your day look like

  • Provide BAU escalation L2/3 IT support for the Service Desk 
  • Take ownership of IT tasks for inflight and upcoming projects as part of project delivery team, to ensure the successfully delivery of IT related projects.
  • Administer and maintain existing ICT/ Print Infrastructure and recommend improvements to existing technologies, process or procedures.
  • The ability to produce high quality technical documentation for projects and BAU. This may include design and planning architecture documents, as-built documentation, project test plans, administration and how to guides.
  • Set up and maintain an effective testing environment and test changes to production servers and the installed base of devices in a controlled environment
  • Working with the Print team and multiple vendors to support management of planning, co-ordinating and controlling activities of the vendor services team to maintain and enhance service delivery
  • Actively handle escalated issues as required
  • Provide a safe and healthy workplace and take actions to minimise risks
  • Through staff engagement, encourage and facilitate contributions, sharing of information and knowledge both within and outside the team 
  • Implement, monitor and review agreed performance and process improvements
  • Ensure Production Printing devices are maintained to optimal levels, through the timely and effective introduction of all updates, modifications, and customer operation advice.
  • Analyse performance benchmarking with targets and implement best practice 
  • Administration, design and support of a range of on-premise and cloud infrastructure technologies and assets, such as:
  • Hypervisor technologies such as MS Hyper-V and VMWare
  • Microsoft technologies such as Active Directory and DNS
  • Windows Server and Desktop systems
  • Microsoft on-premise and cloud Exchange
  • Servers
  • Storage infrastructure e.g. SANs and NAS
  • Enterprise Mobile device management

What will you bring?

  • At least 3-5 years of experience in Print systems administration coupled with relevant professional qualifications
  • Strong knowledge of Active Directory and other key Microsoft server technologies
  • Demonstrated experience in the planning, implementation, management, configuration and maintenance of a Managed Print Service and associated server technologies
  • Highly developed print systems, desktop administration/management skills
  • Solid experience in writing policies and procedures and other support documentation 
  • Good oral and written communication skills 
  • Working knowledge of scripting languages
  • Experience managing large Managed Print deployments
  • Previous experience facilitating and managing change that significantly impacts employees
  • High level communication skills both written and oral, including the ability to communicate effectively with customers, staff and all levels of management
