About the Role

As a Pricing Infrastructure Expert you will play a critical role in managing our strategic agenda of leveraging data to inform optimal price decision making across the commercial lending portfolio. You will do this by combining your strong understanding of the commercial business data landscape with a proficiency in building robust ETL pipelines, ability to create compelling data visualization, and ability to synthesize a variety of data sources to extract deep pricing insights that drive value for our bankers and senior stakeholders.

What will your day look like?


As a Pricing Infrastructure Expert, you will have the opportunity to: 

  • Building and automating robust data assets that synthesize data from a variety of sources to provide key insights on frontline and customer pricing behaviour
  • Building a high-quality, comprehensive suite of visualization/reporting capabilities to monitor portfolio performance and support data-driven decision making
  • Improving pricing integrity through development of sophisticated matching algorithms to ensure bankers are using pricing tools appropriately
  • Maintaining and enhancing various code libraries and other custom analytics tools in use by the team
  • Pro-actively identifying opportunities to drive portfolio value by staying abreast of changes to the regulatory, market and competitive landscape
  • Implementing financially and statistically sound approaches to measure the effectiveness of proposed pricing strategies
  • Development and ongoing refinement of sophisticated statistical pricing models to inform optimal price setting across customer and product segments
  • Presenting insights and recommendations to a diverse range of audiences, from bankers to general managers
  • Providing thought leadership on the use of best practices around data and technology utilisation

What will you bring?


To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

  • Demonstrated outstanding ability to execute on commercial requirements, converting them into technical realities
  • Excellent coding and data wrangling skills, including experience using workload automation tools such as Control M or Airflow to build robust ETL pipelines
  • Excellent data visualization skills with experience using Tableau, PowerBI or Qlik sense
  • Employment of best practices to ensure all code and analysis is accessible and readily extensible by team members
  • Strong ability to translate data insights into practical business recommendations
  • Proficiency in presenting analysis results to senior stakeholders
  • Degree (postgraduate qualification preferred) in STEM or business discipline (e.g. data science, engineering, actuarial studies, mathematics, econometrics, commerce, economics, computer science, or IT)
  • Applicants from other backgrounds who have demonstrated upskilling of technical/data capabilities via other channels – e.g. data micro-courses from providers such as Datacamp, Udemy and Coursera - are also encouraged to apply
