About the Role

 

Under the ASIC Matters arrangements, ANZ is committed to ensuring that the planned commitments are designed effectively and are sustainably embedded to ensure the Matters giving rise to the need for the commitments are addressed. The Closure Point Process is designed to achieve this objective. The scope of the dedicated Closure Process Team’s work is defined in the Closure Process Playbook and includes executing reviews to assess the design, sustainability and operating effectiveness of remediation planned and delivered.

 


This role is a leader with expertise across the business, complaints, events management, customer remediation and one or more I.AM framework (Non Financial Risk) risk themes. It requires a breadth of skills outside of the area of expertise that bring in diverse experience to the work at hand. It requires complex problem solving and strong judgement

What will your day look like?

 

 

Specific Responsibilities Include: 

 


•    Review and challenge of Complaints, Events Management and Remediation Program activities in line with regulatory obligations and the I.AM framework (supported by actionable insights and opinions) including:
o    Adequacy of control environment to mitigate risks and meet policy requirement (individually and in aggregate) within Risk Appetite.
o    Appropriateness and effectiveness of tactical and strategic actions to address Risk response.
o    Assessment of risk exposures and their incorporation in strategic planning discussions.
o    Management assessment and response to Operational Risk Scenarios
o    Adequacy of response to reportable events.
•    Participate in Business and/or program forums such as steering committees, risk assessment workshops, to provide insight and advice, ensuring appropriate consideration of operational risk and compliance issues.
•    Performing 2nd line activities to support the uplift and/or remediation activities of policies, frameworks and processes.
•    Assist the broader team to understand the impact of the complaints, events management and remediation programs on risk profiles. 
•    Identification and analysis of risk data to support risk-based decision making and associated procedures and tools.

What will you bring?

 


To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

 

 

•    Ability to understand end to end processes and identify risks, risk causes and optimal controls. 
•    Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders and influence/negotiate change using an adaptable influencing style.
•    Able to manage priorities and conflicting issues and/or program priorities in a professional/risk-based manner. 
•    Problem solving and critical thinking skills for ensuring problems, root causes leading to actions are understood, including the ability to efficiently synthesize information to determine relevance. 
•    Excellent communication skills
•    Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs and Business Report Writing
•    Demonstrated Experience in Risk Management
•    Knowledge of banking instruments, products, and processes
