About the Role


As Non-Financial Risk Enforceable Undertaking (NFR EU) Team Lead, you will assist ANZ in meeting its obligations under the APRA Court Enforceable Undertaking (CEU) by coordinating the implementation and governance activities set out by the Remediation Program for Retail.

You will provide leadership and oversight to ensure all milestone activities are completed in Retail meet agreed closure criteria, and collect evidence for independent review and regulatory assurance. Acting as the central coordination point for Retail you will liaise with the Group Project Team, Group Risk & Compliance, Line 2 Risk and Compliance, BU Assurance teams, and the Business.

This role ensures alignment, integration, and governance of all the deliverables for Retail. You will lead a high-performing team that can deliver implementation, communications, and governance outcomes that strengthen ANZ’s risk management capability and embed sustainable change.

What will your day look like?

 

The program is delivered through defined “Packages” of work, each with clear scope, objectives, and deliverables. This approach enables incremental delivery, effective risk management, and strong stakeholder engagement.

Delivery & Coordination

  • Lead the delivery and coordination of packages into the business
  • Manage risks, issues, dependencies and change to ensure the successful delivery: on time and to quality
  • Create and own the engagement model for the Business to consume the packages and own this engagement process


Stakeholder Engagement & Communication

  • Be the link between the business and program workstreams, connecting Design Owners, Business Leads, and the Central Program team.  Be the voice of Retail in Group Program meetings
  • Remove roadblocks and escalate when appropriate
  • Manage change and communication to ensure program outputs and outcomes are clearly communicated and understood


Governance & Framework Compliance

  • Be the secretariat for the Steering Committee, ensuring they are informed on progress, risks, dependencies, change impacts, financial performance, and seek approvals or feedback
  • Ensure adherence to the organisation’s Project Management Framework, including governance, methods, templates, tools, and quality assurance


Leadership & Culture

  • Enable a clear vision for the Package delivery and foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, and customer/stakeholder satisfaction
  • Build strong, sustainable relationships with key stakeholders to optimise delivery success


Continuous Improvement & Engagement with other Divisions

  • Enhance program management capability by contributing to continuous improvement initiatives, sharing knowledge between the BU’s in the Division and between other Divisions.

What will you bring?


Critical knowledge, skills and experience required for this role: 


Program & Project Delivery

  • Demonstrable program management skills with ideally 7+ years’ experience in large, complex organisations
  • Delivery of programs/projects to agreed time, scope, budget, and outcomes, including closure memos and supporting evidence for court-enforceable undertakings
  • Advanced report writing skills with the ability to communicate clearly on progress along with escalating issues for resolution and decision making
  • Strong results focus with a continuous improvement and ‘How can I help’ mindset
  • Contribute to knowledge sharing within own team, function and across business units
  • Anticipate change and proactively identifying opportunities to ‘make things simpler’


Business & Functional Knowledge

  • Experience working in Retail to understand the impacts of each milestone to manage delivery times and resourcing


Stakeholder Engagement

  • Skilled in building relationships with the Business, Line 2, and Design owners with the ability to influence decisions and embed a risk-aware culture
  • Clarifying stakeholder needs and managing expectations to ensure effective service delivery
  • Identifying and obtaining support or advice for planning, coordination, and execution of work


Ideal, but not mandatory knowledge, skills and experience required for this role:

Risk & Compliance Expertise

  • Expertise in non-financial risk frameworks, including risk & controls self-assessments, incident & issue management and obligations management across multiple risk types.
  • Proven ability to lead large-scale risk and compliance transformation programs
  • Strong understanding of Prudential Standards, Non Financial Risk Framework, governance principles, compliance frameworks, and assurance processes.


Qualifications:

  • Relevant program or project management qualifications
  • Tertiary Degree in relevant field (Finance, Accounting, Management)
  • On the Job experience -  with proven track record of successfully delivering complex programs of work
