About the Role

As a Manager, Retail - Home Loans, you will play a key role in providing second line compliance support to ANZ's Australia Retail business. You will work closely with senior business stakeholders to oversee and challenge the management of compliance risk, provide regulatory insights and advice, and support effective engagement with regulators.  

This is an opportunity to influence risk outcomes in one of ANZ's largest and most significant customer businesses, while partnering across the organisation on regulatory change, emerging risks and governance activities.

What will your day look like?

You will:

• Undertake risk-based review and challenge of first line compliance risk management activities. 
• Provide compliance advisory services on day-to-day business activities, strategic initiatives and targeted risk assessments. 
• Identify and advise on regulatory change and emerging compliance risks impacting the Australia Retail business. 
• Support the business in understanding and managing regulatory obligations. 
• Analyse data and information to develop insights, opinions and recommendations on existing and emerging compliance risks. 
• Prepare presentations, briefing papers and reporting for senior risk committees and governance forums. 
• Partner with the Group Regulatory Relations team to support effective regulator engagement. 
• Act as a subject matter expert on compliance management policies and practices across the Retail business. 
• Promote a strong risk and compliance culture while building trusted relationships with key stakeholders. 

What will you bring?

• Able to build strong, open and collaborative working relationships at senior levels. 
• Proven ability to influence and ability to manage priorities and conflicting issues in a professional manner. 
• An ability to think about complex issues in a strategic manner, considering the broader context and implications. 
• Demonstrated compliance expertise in regulation impacting the Australia Retail business. 
• Strong understanding and experience in compliance risk methodologies, policies and practices. 
• Experience with banking products and processes in the Australia Retail context. 
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail. 
• People leadership capabilities including coaching and influencing skills. 
• Relevant tertiary qualifications and minimum 7 years’ financial services experience in legal, compliance or audit
