About the Role


As a Manager Financial Crime in our Business Unit, you’ll play a key role in helping to state the key goal of the team. This role consists of specialist positions responsible for ANZ’s compliance regarding Financial Crime & Fraud, including Internal and External Fraud, and Scams. This role is responsible for identifying and advising the Retail Division and Support Divisions how to effectively manage Financial Crime & Fraud risk exposure by providing SME support.

What will your day look like?

 

As the Financial Crime (Fraud) Lead, your role is to oversee and drive excellence across the end to end Financial Crime & Fraud lifecycle, providing advice and assurance over processes, risks and controls. This includes:

 

  1. Supporting the Head of Financial Crime & Fraud Risk COE to uplift the management of Financial Crime (Fraud) activities across the Division, ensuring risks and regulatory obligations (including the NFR Enforceable Undertaking) are met and a robust control environment is in place.
  2. Providing leadership and oversight over the activities of the Retail Financial Crime (Fraud) COE Line 1 Assurance team.
  3. Ensuring coordination and alignment with the assurance related activities of the portfolio aligned assurance teams.
  4. Embedding visibility of the risks and controls and best practice across the value chain.
  5. Providing risk management and regulatory support and advice to the Retail business.
  6. Fostering strong collaboration and connection with the Retail business and Line 2 to drive better risk management practices.
  7. Delivering financial crime capability uplift for the Retail division.
  8. Support delivery of strategic outcomes to optimise Financial Crime (Fraud) risk in alignment with business objectives.

What will you bring?


To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

  • Strong experience in Risk, Audit, Legal or Compliance.
  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Legal or Finance.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage large scale governance structures.
  • Strong communication skills – exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex governance and reporting matters to senior leaders and key stakeholders.
  • A strong understanding of the business, including its operational, risk and commercial aspects to support informed decision making.
  • Demonstrated experience managing governance activities for official committees/forums.
  • Strong demonstrable stakeholder management skills with experience engaging with senior executives and cross-functional teams.
