About the Role
This role sits within Australia Retail (AR) Division and supports the management of non-financial regulatory riskthrough operational, governance and co-ordination support for the division. This role provides regulatory businessand change impact assessments, delivers actionable insights for regulatory engagement with a lens of the end-to-end customer journey, control journey and any impact to the aggregated risk profile is well governed, transparentand aligned to enterprise standards and regulatory expectation.
This role acts as a co-ordination point to ensure the business is responsive to regulatory engagement matters,synthesizes critical and emerging regulatory risks and delivers actionable insights.

What will your day look like?
- Manage the effective triage and co-ordination of regulatory engagement across divisional processes, products, and customer journeys.
- Manage cross divisional engagement (where appropriate) ensuring adherence to enterprise management standards.
- Interpretation and practical application of Group Risk policies, standards, and regulatory obligations within the division translating Regulatory Engagement matters and compliance requirements into business language and articulating the value to the business.
- Maintain an up-to-date regulatory pipeline for Australia Retail Business by coordinating with relevant stakeholders on applicability assessments.
- Assess impact of new regulations via robust documentation covering interpretation of regulatory requirements and its impact on Australia Retail business (products, services, customers, digital, channels, etc.)
- Integrate regulatory risk requirements into business processes, with a focus on logical, practical, sequential and efficient practices that benefit the customer experience.
- Support the delivery of risk strategy and governance initiatives, balancing the business, customer and regulatory requirements to deliver sound business growth and make things simpler for the business.
- Prepare and contribute risk insights, analysis, and reporting to support divisional governance and decision-making.
- Escalate material risk issues, control failures, or non-compliance matters to the Senior Manager, Strategic Risk & Regulatory Programs in line with escalation protocols.
- Act as a trusted Line 1 risk partner to business stakeholders, supporting clear ownership and accountability for regulatory risk and change.
- Act as key conduit to Group Risk, other stakeholders and peers to ensure alignment, consistency and clarity of risk expectations and requirements into business processes.
What will you bring?
- Strong expertise in handling regulatory obligations and regulatory change (covering interpretation, impact assessment, and implementation) on business side.
- Prior 10+ years of experience in banking (preferably in retail banking) or financial services in Regulatory Change, Business Change, Projects, or in a comparable function.
- Exposure & experience in handling new regulations (APRA, ASIC, AUSTRAC, etc.) related coordination, impact assessment, change management.
- Experience supporting & coordinating regulatory advice and change with senior business stakeholders.
- Strong knowledge of existing key regulations for retail banking (e.g. Unfair contact terms; Code of Banking Practice, etc.)
- Experience in producing reports & presentations with MS office programs (Power Point, Excel etc.)
- Strong analytical skills with multitasking abilities and ability to set priorities correctly and meet internal / regulatory deadlines.
- Team player with solid communication skills to be able to moderate and handle engagements.
