You'll provide technical leadership on complex application security initiatives, establish security engineering standards, influence security outcomes across multiple engineering domains, and mentor other security professionals. What will your day look like?
As a Lead Engineer, you will:
- Act as a senior subject matter expert for application security across ANZ.
- Lead application security reviews, threat modelling exercises, and secure design assessments for critical initiatives.
- Define and maintain secure coding standards, security patterns, and engineering guidance.
- Drive adoption of Secure by Design principles across engineering teams.
- Perform advanced secure code reviews and application security assessments.
- Lead security automation initiatives and integrate security controls into CI/CD pipelines.
- Establish enterprise approaches for SAST, SCA, secrets management, and application security tooling.
- Partner with engineering teams to strengthen security outcomes and enable secure software delivery.
- Coach and mentor Application Security Engineers, supporting capability development and knowledge sharing.
- Drive continuous improvement and innovation, including the adoption of AI-powered application security technologies.
What will you bring?
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Deep expertise in application security principles, practices, and secure software development.
- Significant experience conducting complex secure code reviews and application security assessments.
- Strong knowledge of common software vulnerabilities, exploit techniques, and remediation strategies.
- Expertise across frameworks and standards such as OWASP Top 10, ASVS, SAMM, and NIST SSDF.
- Strong understanding of DevSecOps practices and CI/CD security.
- Experience securing cloud-native applications, APIs, and modern software architectures.
- Advanced scripting and automation skills.
- Proven ability to influence technical decisions and drive security outcomes across multiple teams.
- Experience leveraging AI-assisted code review and vulnerability detection tools to improve software security.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and mentoring capabilities.
Highly regarded:
- Container and Kubernetes security experience.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC) security expertise.
- Security architecture experience.
- Threat intelligence or offensive security knowledge.
- Experience securing AI-enabled applications.
- Industry certifications such as CSSLP, CISSP, GWAPT, OSWE, GWEB, or equivalent
