About Us

At ANZ, we're shaping a world where people and communities thrive, driven by a common goal: to improve the financial wellbeing and sustainability of our millions of customers.

About the Role

As a Lead - Data Management in Organisation Design & Implementation (OD&I), you’ll play a key role in leading the end-to-end data management practice that underpins OD&I workforce transformation delivery. The role designs, governs and optimises how data flows across multiple systems – ensuring data quality, accuracy and accessibility for delivery and decision-making.

Banking is changing and we’re changing with it, giving our people great opportunities to try new things, learn and grow. Whatever your role at ANZ, you’ll be building your future, while helping to build ours.

Role Type: Permanent
Role Location: Australia (preferred)
Work Hours: Full time

What will your day look like?

As a Data Management Lead, you will:
• Define and drive OD&I data strategy, governance and standards
Partner closely with OD&I Process Engineer, service owners, delivery practitioners and broader T&C teams (e.g. ECHR) to streamline data practices, remove friction and delays, and co-design holistic data management and optimisation solutions that drive and accelerate transformation outcomes. This will likely include improved data ‘connection’ between different processes that contribute to end-to-end workforce transformation delivery.
• Define and monitor data quality and implement controls to ensure reliable management across all OD&I team members
• Identify, prioritise and deliver data optimisation and automation initiatives that drives efficiencies and removes duplicate efforts
• Act as the OD&I conduit with broader T&C teams (ECHR, Payroll, Workforce Strategy & Analytics, ER, etc.) to harmonise and manage end-to-end data management practices
• Proactively identify and manage data risks, dependencies and constraints, including driving root-cause analysis of data-related defects
• Support rollout of new data practices and automation tools, including training and walkthroughs
• Build team capability in data management and optimisation

What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

•  Strong capability and experience in workforce data management and optimisation
• Ability to identify and quantify data-related inefficiencies, risks and improvement opportunities
• Practical experience with HR system management and ownership, as well as driving integration between HR systems/processes
• Proven track record designing data optimisation and automation opportunities
• Strong analytical skills – ability to interpret data, identify patterns and turn insights into action
• Understanding of end-to-end workforce transformation delivery (from engagement through organisation design, restructure and into post day 1 systems go live)
• Knowledge of HR processes approvals, controls and governance
• Familiarity with ethical data management practices

You’re not expected to have 100% of these skills. At ANZ a growth mindset is at the heart of our culture, so if you have most of these things in your toolbox, we’d love to hear from you.
