About the Role
As the Lead, Climate Reporting, Process and Content, you will be responsible for delivering the Group’s climate reporting to ensure compliance with mandatory climate reporting obligations. You will effectively communicate our climate performance and manage climate risks and opportunities.
This role requires an individual with excellent organizational and time-management skills, capable of working under pressure to meet tight deadlines. You should have a understanding of climate and financial reporting concepts and be able to communicate and collaborate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
Your work will be conducted in an environment of heightened scrutiny from social, governmental, investor, and customer perspectives, particularly with the introduction of mandatory climate disclosures in Australia.

What will your day look like?

Accountable for day to day management of stakeholder inputs and reviews of climate reporting to meet voluntary and mandatory climate reporting standards (including Australian Sustainability Reporting Standards (ASRS) AASB S2 and other jurisdictions as required) and stakeholder expectations

Support provision of guidance on climate reporting inputs from ANZ functions and business units including Suncorp Bank and New Zealand

Development and drafting of disclosures ensuring consistency within the document and inputs into materials for Finance, Investor relations and Corporate Governance teams

Accountable for day-to-day management of assurance, legal reviews and external designers

Management of coordinating reviews and approval of content and liaising with ANZ functions and business units on matters raised from reviewers including executive management and Board

Support uplift of climate reporting governance controls and compliance with the non-financial risk framework

Recommend updates to climate-related reporting, based on peer research and reporting standards
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

Record of achievement in a similar role, with experience managing climate/ESG reporting for an ASX-listed organisation

Expert understanding of national and international reporting and accounting frameworks such as TCFD, AASB, ISSB, GHG Protocol and GRI

Understands financial reporting concepts

Demonstrated ability to write and/or edit material suitable for publication in a range of different formats, with plain English as a key consideration

Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously
Some additional ‘nice to have’ skills for this role include:

Experience in exercising initiative, sound judgement and strong decision making in a high-profile complex environment

Good experience in delivery (delivering to a plan while considering sometimes multiple upstream and downstream dependencies

Financial, risk or regulatory reporting or audit experience

Banking and financial sector experience

Experience working with senior executives
