About the Role
We’re seeking an experienced Lawyer, Corporate to join our Corporate Legal team and support some of ANZ's most significant strategic initiatives.
In this role you will work on mergers and acquisitions, strategic transactions, projects and partnerships that help shape ANZ's future.
Partnering closely with stakeholders across Group M&A, Group Strategy, Government Relations and Policy, and business teams, you will provide commercially focused legal advice on complex and high-impact matters.
Reporting to the Legal Director, Corporate, you will work collaboratively across ANZ's legal function to support the successful delivery of key strategic priorities and business outcomes.

What will your day look like?
In this role, you will:
- Support the delivery of legal advice on mergers and acquisitions and other strategic transactions across the ANZ Group.
- Partner with stakeholders across Group M&A, Group Strategy, Government Relations and Policy, and business teams to achieve strategic business outcomes.
- Assist in the legal aspects of key projects, partnerships and corporate initiatives.
- Provide pragmatic, commercially focused legal advice on a broad range of corporate and strategic matters.
- Collaborate with legal colleagues across ANZ to deliver integrated and effective legal support.
- Build strong relationships with legal and non-legal stakeholders across the organisation.
- Work closely with the Legal Director, Corporate, on matters critical to ANZ's strategic agenda.
What will you bring?
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- At least 5 years' post-qualification experience in corporate law and M&A.
- Strong commercial judgement and the ability to provide pragmatic, solutions-focused legal advice.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex legal concepts clearly.
- A collaborative approach and demonstrated experience working effectively with legal and non-legal stakeholders.
- The ability to build trusted relationships and influence outcomes across a range of stakeholder groups.
- A proactive mindset, positive attitude and a strong commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes.
