About the Role

This role is responsible for day to day investment operational activities related to funds invested by ANZ Staff Superannuation (ANZ SS). Activities carried out are aligned with ANZSS’s investment objectives and policies, Investment Governance Framework, and regulatory requirements all with the aim of delivering sound investment outcomes for members of the fund.

Role Location: 833 Collins Street, Docklands VIC 3008
Work Hours: Full time, 40 hours per week

What will your day look like?

This role is accountable for but not limited to:

  • Daily Oversight: monitoring daily unit prices, liquidity and adherence to strategic asset allocation
  • Procedure Development: Develop and maintain procedures to support investment policy implementation.
  • Service Provider Management: Review and manage service providers to ensure they meet the fund's standards and requirements.
  • Due Diligence: Maintenance and development of a robust Due Diligence framework considering the guidance from the regulator and industry best practise in managing operational risk.
  • Risk Management: Enhance and develop reporting to manage risk effectively. This includes first line risk management
  • Metric Monitoring: Monitor and report on investment metrics to ensure compliance with risk and compliance standards.
  • Governance Reporting: Develop and maintain reporting to support the Investment Governance Framework (IGF).
  • Regulatory Reporting: Work with the colleagues to understand requirements, and source data, to meet investment-related reporting requirements.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Assist in implementing regulatory requirements and enhancing practices based on better practice guides. Ensure all investment activities comply with regulatory standards.

What will you bring?


To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

  • Extensive experience in investment operations or a related field, preferably within the Australian superannuation industry.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and risk management practices.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in assessing or undertaking investment manager operational due diligence.
  • Experience in reviewing valuations reports.
  • Familiarity with daily unit pricing processes and oversight.
  • An understanding of financial accounting as it relates to investments.
  • Ability to read, understand and interpret legal agreements.
  • Ability to work in an environment requiring attention to detail, problem solving and high levels of accuracy.
  • Detailed understanding of superannuation structures and investments.
