About the role

The role is responsible for establishing and leading new reporting initiatives and managing the end-to-end delivery of these initiatives across existing and new reporting solutions.  The role involves managing timing, sequence and scope of work that teams perform, including managing inter-dependencies across teams, squads and other partners (e.g. Technology, Risk and Finance).  The initiative lead is also responsible for engagement with relevant stakeholders and ensuring the change is effective as an end-to-end process.


The Initiative Lead ideally has the following experience:

  • Knowledge of Finance and banking domain.
  • A good understanding of ANZ systems, data, and products (or equivalent banking experience). 
  • Understanding of business intelligence solutions ideally with knowledge of tools such as Qlik or Tableau
  • A track record in delivery of change and leadership

Role Type: 12 months secondment/fixed term

To grow and be successful in the role, you will ideally bring the following:


  • Deliver Well Managed solutions – I have a strong end-user delivery focus, with a proven ability to co-ordinate many moving parts and manage associated change. I can identify, monitor and manage risks, issues and dependencies, agreeing appropriate risk responses in delivery of initiatives. I have experience in delivery of complex pieces of work and in scoping and developing plans for strategic pieces of work
  • Stakeholder Management/Influencing – I build strong relationships with my customers and stakeholders, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels. I have experience in executing business change including key stakeholder management along the journey
  • Analytical mindset and skills – I am analytical and excel at data-driven decision making. I am highly curious and explore data and best practices to inform solution design, and to measure and track impact and outcomes
  • Delivery and change management – I’ve successfully planned and delivered end to end, large scale initiatives or change programs. I have strong conceptual, analytical, financial and problem solving skills. I can effectively ensure roadblocks are removed that inhibit the squad’s ability to deliver the initiative  
  • Value measurement - I can effectively use metrics to ensure feedback from customers is captured as well as continually reviewed. I can measure and track initiatives, benefits and associated impact in initiative delivery. I have a proven ability in managing conflicting priorities professionally in order to meet deadlines
  • Experience in delivering outcomes for large scale reporting & business intelligence projects
  • Proficiency in using tools to manage projects effectively – whether it’s a Gantt Chart, Excel, Confluence, SharePoint or something else!
  • Background in process optimisation (e.g. lean/six sigma)
