About Us

Role Location: Melbourne
Role Type:  Permanent, Full-time

Group Procurement partners with teams across ANZ that engage and rely on third parties to deliver value for customers, stakeholders and colleagues. Aligned to ANZ2030, we support simpler, more resilient and value‑focused outcomes by shaping how the business sources the goods and services it needs. We promote a fair, responsible and ethical approach to procuring and paying for goods and services. Through clear policies, standards and guidance, we set expectations that procurement activity is planned, risk‑aware, compliant and transparent, while remaining practical and scalable for teams.

The Head of Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM) & Procurement Governance plays a key role in supporting ANZ’s strategy in the management of all third-parties including suppliers, partners, introducers etc and all aspects of Procurement governance. The primary purpose of the Head of TPRM & Procurement Governance is to ensure that ANZ’s frameworks and policies for managing Procurement activities and risk associated with third parties is fit for purpose, and that it is complied with across the group. This is critical to ensure ANZ can demonstrate management of risks associated with Procurement activity and third-parties including material Non-Financial Risks (NFR) such as cyber security, data privacy, operational resilience and financial crime.

Your key accountabilities in this role will include:

  • Own and deliver the bank’s enterprise third‑party risk and procurement governance strategy so it aligns to business objectives, risk frameworks and regulatory expectations.
  • Set, maintain and embed clear TPRM and procurement policies, standards and controls, ensuring consistent compliance across regions and regulatory regimes.
  • Design and run effective TPRM governance, committees, metrics and reporting to provide clear oversight and escalation to executives, risk forums and the Board.
  • Lead enterprise third‑party due diligence, control assessments and issue management to give business leaders a clear view of third‑party risk exposure.
  • Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders, regulators, auditors and industry peers to influence outcomes and ensure credible regulatory engagement.
  • Partner with Procurement, Legal, Commercial and other enablement teams to drive a joined‑up approach to how third parties are selected, managed and controlled.
  • Uplift capability through targeted training, communication and system improvements so TPRM requirements and risks are clearly understood across the organisation.
  • Lead and manage the TPRM team with clear objectives, resourcing and financial oversight, while promoting strong risk culture, accountability and ANZ values.

About You

To grow and be successful in this role, you’ll ideally bring the following:

  • Deep enterprise risk management expertise gained in large, complex organisations, with strong understanding of TPRM, procurement and regulatory risk.
  • Proven ability to set and execute strategic, technically robust plans that align risk management outcomes to business and commercial objectives.
  • Evidence of having established a TPRM function, with systems, process, and a differentiated service offering for third parties aligned to business risk appetite
  • Effective knowledge of contractual frameworks, clauses and commercial understanding.
  • Strong working knowledge of procurement regulations, governance frameworks, policies and market trends, including emerging third‑party risks and threats.
  • Extensive experience engaging with Boards, ExCo, regulators and auditors, with the ability to clearly and confidently communicate complex issues and recommendations.
  • Highly developed influencing skills and credibility to drive outcomes across diverse geographies, business lines and senior stakeholder groups.
  • Demonstrated track record of leading high‑performing, geographically dispersed teams and delivering whole‑of‑organisation change and complex programs.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to balance innovation, efficiency and risk, including process redesign, automation and use of emerging technologies.
  • Calm, pragmatic and persuasive leadership under pressure, with the ability to navigate complex risk events, secure resources and educate stakeholders without alarmism.
  • The ability to lead and motivate diverse teams, anchoring your approach in ANZ’s values and leadership behaviours. This includes a reputation for coaching, encouraging curiosity and investing in people development.
