About the Role
The Head of Project Management Practice is accountable for leading the Project Management Practice (Project Managers, Project Management Office, Project Schedulers, Project Co-ordinators) within the Transformation Delivery Hub (TDH), ensuring the profession is equipped to deliver high-quality, consistent and predictable outcomes across ANZ.
Reporting directly to the General Manager, Transformation Delivery Hub, the role provides leadership across project management capability, professional standards, workforce insights, communities of practice and delivery excellence initiatives. The role acts as the principal subject matter expert and advocate for the project management profession, shaping practice direction, influencing delivery standards and driving capability uplift across the Transformation Delivery Hub.
In addition, the role provides independent oversight, guidance and constructive challenge to delivery teams and leaders, helping ensure projects are appropriately structured, resourced and governed to achieve successful outcomes. Through delivery insights, health assessments and performance monitoring, the role identifies opportunities to strengthen delivery effectiveness, address emerging risks and improve the likelihood of initiatives meeting planned objectives, timelines and benefits.
Working closely with delivery leaders, practice leads and senior stakeholders, the role promotes contemporary project management approaches, supports workforce and capability planning, builds a high-performing professional community and contributes to improved portfolio delivery performance across ANZ.

What will your day look like?

Lead the Project Management Practice and shape the vision, priorities and improvement roadmap.

Champion contemporary project management approaches, standards and industry best practice.

Establish capability frameworks, role profiles and career pathways for project management professionals.

Provide expert guidance on project delivery approaches, controls and governance practices.

Monitor portfolio delivery performance, identifying risks, bottlenecks and opportunities to improve delivery outcomes.

Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders on project delivery performance, team effectiveness and execution.

Provide recommendations on delivery models, resource strategies and interventions to drive successful outcomes.

Lead and grow the Project Management Community of Practice.

Foster collaboration, knowledge sharing and the exchange of lessons learned and leading practices.

Provide leadership input into workforce planning, capability strategies and future talent requirements.

Support initiatives that attract, develop and retain high-performing project management professionals.
What will you bring?
- Significant experience leading or developing project management capability, delivery excellence, PMO, project governance or professional practice functions within a regulated organisation
- Deep knowledge of project management methodologies, governance practices and delivery frameworks
- Experience designing and implementing capability frameworks, learning pathways, accreditation programs or professional development initiatives
- Knowledge of contemporary delivery approaches, including Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid, Product, Value Stream and Persistent Team delivery models
- Experience influencing senior stakeholders and driving enterprise adoption of new practices, standards and ways of working
- Experience establishing or leading Communities of Practice, mentoring programs or capability uplift initiatives
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and facilitation skills
- Experience working across large-scale transformation or complex delivery environments
- Exposure to organisational change, operating model transformation or enterprise capability uplift program
- Experience conducting delivery health checks, maturity assessments, lessons learned reviews or continuous improvement activities
- Degree in Business, Commerce, Technology, Project Management or related discipline
- Relevant professional certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2 Practitioner, AIPM CPPD, Agile certifications (SAFe, Scrum, Kanban) or coaching and facilitation qualifications
