As the Head of Product & Digital Services, you'll play a pivotal role in driving the governance, operating model, commercial enablement and portfolio management disciplines that support ANZ's global Products & Digital Solutions strategy, helping deliver better outcomes for our customers, people and business.

About the Role

The General Manager Payments & Transaction Solutions is a senior leadership role within the PCM Products & Digital Solutions team, accountable for setting and executing the global vision, strategy and commercial performance of the Payments & Transaction Solutions portfolio. The role carries a global remit spanning product strategy, delivery, commercial outcomes and lifecycle management across multiple regions and client segments.

 

This role defines and owns the end-to-end roadmap for Payments & Transaction Solutions, ensuring the portfolio is market-leading, scalable and aligned to client needs, regulatory requirements and enterprise priorities. The position has full P&L accountability, with responsibility for revenue growth, cost discipline, investment prioritisation and value realisation.

 

The role partners closely with Technology, Sales, Operations, Risk and Finance to deliver resilient, compliant solutions and differentiated client experiences.

What will your day look like?

 

  • Shape and execute the global strategy for Payments & Transaction Solutions, driving growth, innovation and market leadership across Institutional, Corporate, Financial Institution and Commercial Banking segments.
  • Own and evolve the product roadmap, balancing customer needs, emerging technologies, regulatory change, modernisation priorities and commercial outcomes.
  • Identify new growth opportunities, strategic partnerships and ecosystem plays that enhance ANZ's competitive position and strengthen customer relationships.
  • Lead the development and commercialisation of market-leading payments and transaction banking solutions, ensuring exceptional customer experiences that are secure, digital and scalable.
  • Drive revenue growth, portfolio profitability, pricing strategy and investment decisions while continuously optimising product performance and operational efficiency.
  • Use customer insights, market trends and data analytics to inform strategy, improve products and deliver meaningful client outcomes.
  • Partner closely with Sales, Technology, Operations and Product teams to deliver seamless end-to-end solutions and accelerate business growth.
  • Represent Payments & Transaction Solutions with senior executives, key clients, regulators, fintechs and industry partners, building strong strategic relationships and influencing outcomes.
  • Champion innovation through digital transformation, emerging technologies, automation and new business models that simplify customer experiences and improve productivity.
  • Ensure strong risk management, governance and regulatory compliance across the portfolio, embedding a proactive risk culture and effective controls.
  • Lead, inspire and develop a high-performing global team, fostering a culture of accountability, inclusion, innovation and continuous learning.
  • Coach and mentor senior leaders, building organisational capability and ensuring the team is positioned to deliver on ANZ's strategic ambitions

What will you bring?

 

  • Extensive leadership experience within global Payments, Transaction Banking, Cash Management or Institutional Banking environments, with deep expertise in product management, governance and regulatory frameworks.
  • A strong commercial mindset with demonstrated success driving growth, profitability and client outcomes, while building and maintaining trusted relationships with senior executives, clients and industry stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute strategic plans, identify market opportunities and lead large-scale transformation, innovation and digital change initiatives.
  • Strong financial, analytical and risk management capabilities, with experience managing product portfolios, investment decisions, regulatory obligations and control environments.
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to build alignment across complex, matrixed organisations and lead multi-disciplinary teams to deliver results.
  • A track record of driving business improvement, operational efficiency and process optimisation through data-led decision making and continuous improvement.
  • Highly developed planning, prioritisation and execution skills, with the ability to navigate ambiguity, balance competing priorities and deliver outcomes in dynamic environments.
  • A proactive and innovative leadership style, coupled with resilience, sound judgement and a passion for developing high-performing teams.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Commerce or a related discipline. Postgraduate qualifications such as an MBA, Master of Finance or equivalent are highly regarded.
  • Professional qualifications or certifications in Payments, Transaction Banking, Treasury Services, Cash Management, Risk Management, Compliance or Governance will be advantageous.
