Head of Customer Monitoring and Detection
About Us
At ANZ, we're shaping a world where people and communities thrive, driven by a common goal: to improve the financial wellbeing and sustainability of our millions of customers.
About the Role
As the Head of Customer Monitoring and Detection, you will oversee a high-performing team across multiple jurisdictions, driving the development and enhancement of financial crime detection solutions. Your primary focus will be on enhancing AML Detection and Customer Risk Rating models to strengthen detection capabilities and alert quality.
You will work closely with Financial Crime teams to identify opportunities to expand detection coverage and develop effective solutions, drawing from inputs such as typology reports, intelligence findings, and risk assessments. Additionally, you will support strategic financial crime initiatives by driving the evolution of financial crime detection capabilities, including machine learning and the broader journey to cloud.
This role will be part of the Financial Crime Threat Management (FCTM) Team who is committed to safeguarding ANZ businesses and communities from financial crime risks. By utilising customer data and intelligence, FCTM identifies, investigates, and escalates potentially suspicious activities, including money laundering, terrorist financing, and dealings with sanctioned entities. FCTM specialists operate within the Financial Crime Portfolio, assisting businesses across the group in meeting their financial crime regulatory requirements.
Banking is changing and we’re changing with it, giving our people great opportunities to try new things, learn and grow. Whatever your role at ANZ, you’ll be building your future, while helping to build ours.
