About the Role
The Group Cost Lead is part of the Group Performance Management capability within FPM, which is tasked with supporting delivery of Group level operational aspects of Finance in line with agreed parameters; and meeting bank-wide financial performance goals by working together as one Finance function, connected across Divisions and disciplines - leveraging scale and ‘one way of doing things’ to increase agility, balancing business value with being well-managed.

What will your day look like?
Key responsibilities include:
- The role will manage a team of cost staff and support them in carrying out their responsibilities for managing day-to-day functional aspects - balancing resource allocation decisions with protecting financial integrity, delivering quality analysis, whilst allowing sufficient capacity to advance the process improvement agenda.
- Drive better performance management outcomes through strategic planning & outlook processes, and embed these through clear and consistent financial target settings (KRAs/OKRs)
- Provide cost-related decision support advice and partnering to the Head of Group Costs and support them in their interactions with the CFOs as required
- Continue to embed and enhance the Cost Management Unit framework to uplift cost management discipline across the organisation
- Partner with Talent & Culture to optimise FTE forecasting and reporting to support improved resource allocation
- Collaborate to embed productivity accountability, ensuring benefits realisation is measurable and aligned to financial results
- Implement Business Intelligence capabilities that support data-led, fact based decision-making for key executives with material financial accountability
- Support a ‘single version of the truth’ for cost and productivity reporting, ensuring consistent definitions, assumptions, and data sources across Finance, CMUs, and Divisions to support executive decision‑making
- Build and maintain high-value internal networks across ANZ, maintaining effective working relationships with peers and key stakeholders inside and outside of Finance
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
- Ideally CPA or chartered accountant
- Experience in a Senior Finance or Business leadership role
- Demonstrated experience influencing Senior Executives and driving business performance through the provision of strategic and commercial advice
- Navigated a path and brought others on the journey in complex and ambiguous environments
- Planned the performance of a portfolio of work to ensure realisation of value, effective & efficient delivery and identified, scoped, planned and executed large change programs on time and within budget
- Completed financial analysis and providing data-led, fact-based advice, insight, and early warning on performance
- Used strong verbal, visual and written communication skills to influence senior stakeholders
- Focus on future value, rather than reacting to current issues, able to think holistically
- Takes initiative and able to anticipate needs and changes
- Reviews for accuracy and high-quality resultt, facilitates and manages change and questions processes to foster innovation and efficiency
