About the Role

Your role as a First Nations Partnerships Manager is to develop and manage ANZ’s formal strategic partnerships with First Nations organisations, to deliver on its Australian First Nations Strategy and other organisational priorities, in a way that creates shared value and mutual benefit for all partners.
This role will scope, create and manage the strategic partnerships, both large and small, that ANZ has. This includes scoping the relationship, managing contracts, ongoing relationship management, reporting and governance.
Role Location: Melbourne (preferred). We are open to this role being located in any major Australian capital city.
Role Type: Permanent, Full time
What will your day look like?
This role is accountable for:
- Pipeline: identify, scope, develop, contract and execute strategic and mutually beneficial First Nations partnerships for ANZ that align with ANZ’s First Nations Strategy, values and purpose.
- Relationship management: Cultivate ANZ’s relationship with key partners to deepen engagement and explore collaboration opportunities.
- Negotiation and Agreements: Manage all aspects of formalising partnerships, including contracts and payments
- Governance, performance, reporting: lead the governance and reporting of partnerships, maintaining accurate records
- Stakeholder engagement and communication: establish strong working relationships with partners and manage conflicts.
- Collaboration: Work with internal and external stakeholders to deliver partnership outcomes.
- Serve as a subject-matter expert for First Nations partnership enquiries
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in the role, you will ideally bring the following:
- Strong cultural awareness and understanding of First Nations histories and cultures
- Commitment to improving First Nations financial wellbeing and self-determination.
- Experience in managing partnerships and contracts
- Strong sense of accountability and personal responsibility, including a commitment to deliver outcomes within set timeframes and agreed standards
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build trusted relationships (especially with First Nations people and organisations), and to represent ANZ in public forums. This includes interpersonal skills, writing skills and presentation skills.
- Displays curious and/or growth mindset – being open to new ideas, continuous learning and different points of view.
- Ability to communicate openly and use your problem-solving initiative to overcome obstacles where necessary.
- Strong self-management and discipline
