About Us

At ANZ, we're shaping a world where people and communities thrive, driven by a common goal: to improve the financial wellbeing and sustainability of our millions of customers.

About the Role

Financial Crime Threat Management (FCTM) is committed to safeguarding ANZ businesses and communities from financial crime risks. By utilising customer data and intelligence, FCTM identifies, investigates, and escalates potentially suspicious activities, including money laundering, terrorist financing, and dealings with sanctioned entities. FCTM specialists operate within the Financial Crime Portfolio, assisting businesses across the group in meeting their financial crime regulatory requirements.

As a Financial Crime Risk Assessment Lead, you will play a critical role within Financial Crime Threat Management (FCTM), supporting ANZ’s commitment to effectively identify, assess and manage financial crime risks across the enterprise.

The role is accountable for the end‑to‑end ownership of ANZ’s Financial Crime Risk Assessment framework, including Enterprise‑Wide, Country, Product, Channel, Customer and Jurisdictional risk assessments. This includes ensuring methodologies, governance and supporting tools remain fit‑for‑purpose, aligned to ANZ’s AML/CTF and Sanctions obligations, and reflective of the organisation’s risk appetite.

You will work closely with stakeholders across the three lines of defence to maintain a consistent, intelligence‑led approach to risk assessment, enabling the business to understand its inherent and residual financial crime risk exposure and implement appropriate controls.

This role is central to maintaining ANZ’s compliance with regulatory expectations and supporting continuous uplift of financial crime risk assessment practices across the Group.
