About the Role
Your role as a Financial Crime Transformation Project Policy Manager is to work with the Group Financial Crime Program to help:
- Lead the way in innovative, effective and compliant financial crime risk management
- Deliver Project Fortify, which has been established at an enterprise level to centrally manage law reform and regulatory expectations governing Financial Crime & External Fraud risk. In collaboration with the Financial Crime Program and the business, Project Fortify will:
- “Pull the kite strings together” to minimise impact on the business, reduce risk in change and overhead by delivering a coordinated approach to law reform and heighted regulatory expectations.
- Build on the foundations delivered by Accord and learnings from I.AM Amplified and CPS 230, tailoring change only where necessary.
- Where possible, leverage Group and Divisional change initiatives, NFR transformation and drive sustainable embedment.
- Support delivery of strategic outcomes to optimise Financial Crime & External Fraud risk for FY30 and beyond that are aligned with business objectives and the bank we’re building

What will your day look like?
As a Financial Crime Transformation Project Policy Manager, you are accountable for:
- Assessing and managing changes required by law reform and regulatory expectations to continuously uplift and embed the Financial Crime Risk Theme across the enterprise.
- Working with the Financial Crime Regulatory & Policy Team to recommend changes to the Financial Crime policy framework, policies, standards and control objectives.
- Identifying thematic issues associated with the Risk Themes to be raised with the relevant Risk Officer (e.g. control objectives, material issues and events, control failures and improvement opportunities).
- Providing advice on changes required to policies, standards and control objectives in alignment with operational risk management framework, law reform, regulatory expectations and Financial Crime strategic outcomes.
- Collaborating with the Financial Crime Learning, Governance, Advisory, Financial Crime Threat Management and the business to strengthen their approach to apply controls, control monitoring, governance and oversight.
- Identification of innovative and data led opportunities to strengthen the Financial Crime policy framework.
- Building relationships internally and externally to increase collaboration and achieve better Financial Crime strategic outcomes for ANZ and the broader industry.
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in the role, you will ideally bring the following:
- Financial Crime subject matter experience across AML/CTF, Sanctions, Anti-Bribery and Corruption, External Fraud and Scams
- Experience managing delivery of change and project management
- Good understanding of banking products, channels and services
- Ability to influence stakeholders and colleagues with empathy, facts and logic and draw on a repertoire of influencing techniques skills and lead the work through others (not just through reporting lines)
