Executive Remuneration & Governance Manager

Req ID:  118574
Department:  R&P T&C Regulatory Governance
Division:  Talent & Culture
Location:  Melbourne

About Us

At ANZ, we're shaping a world where people and communities thrive, driven by a common goal: to improve the financial wellbeing and sustainability of our millions of customers.

About the Role

Within Talent & Culture, our Reward & Performance team plays a critical role in ensuring our remuneration frameworks drive performance, reflect risk, and meet evolving regulatory expectations.

We are seeking an experienced Executive Remuneration & Governance Manager to join our Regulatory Governance team, supporting some of the organisation’s most complex and high-profile remuneration decisions. This is a high-impact role at the intersection of executive remuneration, governance, and regulation.

You will provide expert advice on remuneration matters for senior executives and Non-Executive Directors, ensuring outcomes align with regulatory requirements, Board oversight expectations, and ANZ’s performance and remuneration framework.

Working closely with other subject matter experts, senior stakeholders and governance forums, you will play a key role in shaping remuneration decisions, supporting Board and Committee processes, and enhancing governance practices across the organisation.

Role Type: Permanent
Role Location: Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane
Work Hours: Full-Time

What will your day look like?

  • Lead executive remuneration matters across appointments, reward structures, and annual reviews ensuring alignment with ANZ’s frameworks and regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with other subject matter experts and senior stakeholders, providing expert advice and influencing key remuneration decisions
  • Draft Board and Committee papers, delivering clear, evidence-based insights and recommendations
  • Provide regulatory guidance, supporting compliance with internal policies and external regulatory frameworks
  • Drive market intelligence and benchmarking, translating insights into practical recommendations
  • Enhance governance frameworks and processes, improving efficiency, control and consistency across executive reward activities
  • Act as a trusted advisor and informal leader, influencing outcomes across Reward & Performance and broader Talent & Culture.

What will you bring?

  • Extensive experience (5+ years) in remuneration, market benchmarking, and regulatory compliance - ideally executive remuneration within financial services or large, complex environments.
  • Proven ability to plan, manage and deliver high-impact workstreams at pace and achieve great outcomes through influence rather than formal authority.
  • Strong analytical skills, with a talent for translating data into clear, compelling insights.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills - experience in drafting board papers and external disclosures would be well regarded.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset and the ability to navigate ambiguity and complexity.
