About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Executive Recruitment, you will lead end-to-end search and selection for executive roles across the bank, partnering closely with ANZ Group Executives, senior leaders and Talent & Culture colleagues. Through your expertise in executive talent acquisition, you will help strengthen ANZ's leadership pipeline by connecting the organisation with exceptional talent and enabling well-informed decisions aligned to our strategic priorities and future capability needs.
Role Type: Permanent
Role Location: Melbourne preferred. Sydney or Brisbane will also be considered.
Work Hours: Full-time, 40hrs/week OR Part-time (4 days minimum)
What will your day look like?
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Leading end-to-end executive search and selection for leadership roles across ANZ, partnering with Group Executives, senior leaders and Talent & Culture colleagues to deliver exceptional hiring outcomes.
- An advisor to senior stakeholders, providing counsel on sourcing and selection strategies, candidate fit, market dynamics and executive hiring decisions.
- Developing and executing executive search strategies that balance business priorities, market realities, diversity objectives and future capability requirements.
- Leveraging external market intelligence, competitor insights and talent trends to inform recruitment strategies, succession planning discussions and leadership workforce decisions.
- Building and maintaining proactive relationships with high-calibre executive talent, creating pipelines aligned to current and future enterprise capability needs.
- Influencing and guiding complex decision-making processes, navigating ambiguity and competing stakeholder perspectives to drive timely, balanced and commercially sound hiring outcomes.
- Delivering an exceptional experience for executive candidates, hiring leaders and stakeholders, acting as an ambassador for ANZ's brand, culture and leadership aspirations.
- Championing diverse hiring outcomes through proactive talent mapping, inclusive search practices and advocacy for underrepresented executive talent, including support of ANZ's Women in Leadership and First Nations agenda.
- Managing relationships with executive search partners and external providers to maximise market access, candidate quality and value for ANZ.
- Contributing insights and recommendations to talent reviews, succession planning and strategic workforce discussions to strengthen leadership capability across the organisation.
- Identifying opportunities to simplify processes, enhance governance, improve efficiency and evolve ANZ's executive recruitment proposition in line with business needs and strategic priorities.
- Role modelling ANZ’s values; Put Customers First, Deliver with Excellence, Own the Outcome and Work as One, ensuring these principles underpin decision-making, stakeholder engagement and delivery of executive recruitment outcomes.
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
- Executive recruitment experience leading end-to-end recruitment for senior roles in a large, complex organisation or executive search sector.
- Demonstrated experience managing executive level candidates and knowledge of executive remuneration structures.
- Highly developed influencing, negotiation and judgement capabilities, with the confidence to operate effectively in ambiguity, navigate complex stakeholder environments and drive decisions at the most senior levels of the organisation.
- Demonstrated commercial acumen, with the ability to balance business priorities, market dynamics, risk considerations and stakeholder expectations to deliver purpose aligned recruitment outcomes.
- A high level of detail orientation to identify and manage risks, issues and dependencies.
- A resilient and adaptable work style, with the ability to maintain composure and sound judgement in a fast-paced, high-profile environment, balancing multiple priorities, competing stakeholder demands and evolving business needs.
