As a Devops Engineer working within Experience Engineering, you will be responsible for building and evolving our next-generation web applications with a focus on an outstanding customer experience. You will be working in a microservice led environment with a focus on building reusable components and functionality where possible.

You’ll create a lasting impact by:

  • Improving the tooling used by the Web Experience squads, be it continuous integration pipelines, web testing and monitoring tools or fine tuning Webpack builds.

  • Coaching engineers in the team to design and implement secure, scalable and impactful solutions.

  • Shaping the future Web Platform, acting as a technical expert and helping to define the future state of our technology.

  • Working at a senior level across the programme team, collaborating with architects, engineers, testers and security specialists.

  • Self-organising your own priorities, you will facilitate rapid decision making for the team.

  • Shaping how ANZ delivers on their commitment to providing great customer service through technology.

What will you bring?

  • Strong understanding of software engineering principles, including security.
  • Experience working within cloud environments such as GCP, AWS or Azure.
  • Ability to demonstrate UI design literacy and experience with frontend testing and monitoring, and with Webpack.
  • Experience with provisioning tooling using configuration-as-code and CI/CD pipelines in cloud environments.
  • Practice of SRE, helping teams resolve reliability issues and optimising their stack.

So, why join us?

Here at ANZ, Engineering is about delivering a seamless customer experience at scale through working with the rest of the business in an innovative, adaptive and agile way.

This means you will get to:

  • Solve problems and issues that matter. You’ll work on providing solutions that make an impact to customers. You’ll have a laser focus on customers, using human-centred design to provide simple and impactful solutions. \
  • Develop both breadth and depth. We want great engineers, and we will foster our people’s talent by giving opportunities to work on things that develop both your deep technical expertise, as well as your broad end-to-end understanding. At times you may be coding in a specific platform, and at other times you may work on enterprise-wide solutions across the business— either way, you get to work on missions that excites you.
  • Work Agile in multidisciplinary teams. You won’t be faced with traditional hierarchies. Instead, working Agile means you will be constantly testing, iterating, and making rapid decisions as you go. You will get to self-organise and work in squads consisting of developers, ops engineers, customer journey experts and product owners who come from different domains.
  • Own it. Most importantly, you’ll get to deliver end to end service, and shape how ANZ delivers .

We work flexibly at ANZ and encourage you to talk to us about how this role can be flexible for you and any adjustments you may require to our recruitment process or the role itself. If you are a candidate with a disability, let us know how we can provide you with additional support.
